Muffler mods ?
I did a longer than usual drive with the car this w.e - down to the IMSA race at Laguna seca (obligatory pic) - my car is a base 2013, no Sports exhaust... Mood + hi-temps were such that I drove in sports mode the whole way which in my stripper car means simply sharper Egas, more oil cooling, and the %$#%$ sound tube opening from the engine to the cabin. I found that piped in sound to be hollow and irritating on the freeway - it's not the first time I hear it obviously but somehow after a 6 hr drive it really irritated me, when until now it had been fine... I want to plug in that tube (will look that up in a minute) but at the same time I would not mind increasing the base exhaust sound a bit. On my ex-993 I remember taking off Bischoff mufflers and sending them to a guy who gutted them a bit, rewelded them, and made them sound better - no drone... What are the options in cali (Smog state) to improve the muffler sound "a bit", without going full sports exhaust retrofit or creating a drone, or getting obnoxious... Just a +1 - not crazy loud? Can you still mod the mufflers like before ( I'm showing my age here) or should I swap ? I don't want to mess with Smog either so just the mufflers is legal right ? Not looking for mythical HP, just something a little fruitier - can you recommend something that is not too involved ?

Forget modding the muffler and get high flow cats, which are bolt-on and if you ever want to go back to stock you can and still have OEM equipment and no cut up mufflers.

Someone needs to cut this muffler open already lol. I will leave you with these 2 thoughts, all the other VAG cars have secondary cats, including the Huracan Performante. Also, have you ever touched the muffler on the 911 after driving for a few minutes? Let me know what happens.

You've got CARB staring over your shoulder at all times, which means replacing the mufflers may be the best option for you. We designed our Performance Valved Exhaust to splice into the factory side mufflers to allow for an aggressive tone with valves open and a refined tone with valves closed. It's a great upgrade for the money without requiring several components to work in conjunction and we can all appreciate the quality of the OEM side mufflers and their ability to reduce drone. That said, regarding what you mentioned about your desires the volume level may exceed your expectations. Should you want to upgrade on the header side and then revert to stock when necessary, our Long Tube Street Headers will give you more grunt and more sound without a check engine light and noxious fumes.
Currently in production and ready to go! Thank you for the recommendation!
The 991.1 has the primary catalytic converters in the headers as shown below:
Here's a cutaway of the base model's factory center muffler we just did for everyone to see the internal workings. Remember the exhaust flow then goes to the side mufflers before exiting the car.
If anyone ever has any questions we invite you to contact us, we're more than happy to help in any way we can!

I think Soul is developing one for your car, https://soulpp.com/product/porsche-9...xhaust-system/

Ive seen cutaways like that where theres passive secondary cats in the pipes but theres also side mufflers on the 991.1.... no side mufflers on a .2 so I stand by my prediction. The stock pse muffler is also heavy AF. Someone please slice it open

@Soul Performance Mike, do you have a cut out of the valved version (non-PSE)?
