Replace non multi function steering wheel
Hi all,
2014 C2S with sport chrono, PDK, and non multi function steering wheel.
Is it possible to install a multi function steering wheel?
I have read many post where users replaced a multi function wheel with a sport wheel, but not what I would like to do.
Thanks
Jeff

Yes, it can be done, at least in a 991.2. I recently went the OPPOSITE direction and removed the multi-function buttons, installed blanks, and a new 4-stalk clockspring.
You'll need to purchase the multi-function buttons from Suncoast, and I believe a wiring harness to get it work.
I have considered selling my multi-function setup but I may want to return it back to stock if I sell it.

Different direction.
Hi all,
Thanks for the responses, very helpful.
Decided that what I really was looking for was a simple sport wheel with the paddle shifters.
After thinking about the use of the multifunction stalk, and my present shift buttons, I realized that it was the buttons I really didn't care for.

It is not a problem as long as you change the stalk and control unit. I have a carbon fiber and leather mutlifunction wheel from my 2015 991TS that will work. I also have the Stalk and all necessary parts for it to function properly. Dealer can install for about $300. Let me know if you are interested.

This is from a 991.1 Turbo so it has the button shifters. For anyone interested in it I will let it go pretty cheap, like $700 for everthing. Its just sitting in a box.
I recently replaced my 991.1 GTS wheel with the 991.2 GTS wheel and it is a huge improvement. My GTS is a manual BTW.

Hi Guys,
I am so glad I found this thread. I have been contemplating for weeks about swapping my 991.1 MF, non-heated, non sport (thumb buttons) wheel for a 991.2 wheel. I got the airbag and the wheel on ebay already. The wheel is a 2020 Macan wheel, paddles, same MF buttons, no sports chrono thumb dial, has a heat button but I don't really care about adding the heat function.
Can I just swab the old wheel for the new one? Do I really need the GPS adapter? I have read the whole thread and getting a bit confused about the function of the GPS x-adapter. Some said it is for the 991.2 wheel to talk to the 991.1 car so the MF buttons will work. Some said it is for the sports chrono thumb dial buttons to work, but my new wheel does not have the sport chrono thumb dial. I am used to the center console sports plus buttons anyway.
So to summarize, if I don't care to add the heat function and no sports chrono thumb dial, do I still need the GPS x adapter?
Thanks in advance for all your input.

2017 C2 PDK SC. I have the GT sport wheel with no stinking buttons period, just 4 stalks and 2 paddles, love it to death. I have voice recognition but I don't use it, it is activated by a very small button on the end of the turn signal stalk. check to see if you have it too.
