Also PM'd -- just got my new-to-me C2S 2014 with 17,000 miles on it. For $3,600 I'll bite.

It seems like Fidelity is highly regarded as a warranty provider in this forum. Has anyone had to file a claim with them? What's the process like?

Filing a claim is easy the Porsche dealer can do it directly. But I was disappointed on my only claim so far (electric window switch not working). They didn’t cover it because when they opened up the door the switch was ok just the plug wasn’t connected properly. So they only cover the repair if there is actually a faulty component.

It wasn’t a big cost just a couple of hundred dollars but I still think it’s a ‘repair’ so it should have been covered.

Hmm. I hope this story isn’t indicative of them tiptoeing in the gray area.

I intend to drive my car hard — tracking and autocrossing. This warranty would be for peace of mind.

Get it. Many here have used it and even they were surprised at how easily their claims were handled, for truly broken stuff!

Did anyone get a contact from this user? I didn’t get a response yet and am interested in getting in on this warranty/price.

I haven't. I'm still waiting on a reply. If he doesn't come thru, I might just self insure and take my chances.

Have any of you purchased a Fidelity platinum warranty for manual transmission 911 C2S?
I have a 2013 911 and I just crossed 24,000 miles so now I have to really think about it.

I read about some reverse light failure which will prevent my car from being inspected so that would be the thing I worry about the most. I heard you need a new transmission if it fails. Sounds insane to me.
Other than that I can self-insure.
thanks

I just got a new trans due to difficulty shifting into reserve. Some problem with the rods was what I was told. $20K covered by CPO.

Damn it. These last couple of responses is not inspiring a lot of confidence in my recent 991.1SS purchase.

There isn't an auto manufacturer out there that has produced a car with 0 problems. It happens. Forums are great for seeing trends with recurring problems and gives you an idea of things that crop up repeatedly. But, forums are also places people come to bitch.

After being on the C7 forum before this, these Pcars seem bullet proof, albeit more expensive to repair if/when something does happen.
