Default Sport Mode - no audible difference

My new 991.2 (C2) does not have a change in exhaust note when Sport Mode is engaged.

Notably my 718 S had an audible difference in Sport Mode compared to normal mode, especially on trailing throttle. In contrast my 991.2 is pretty quiet all the way around when in Sport Mode.

Is this normal behavior for a 991.2?

Thanks

Jason

Do you have PSE or chrono?

If you don't have either, all you're getting is sharper throttle response and a higher idle.

My ‘17 C2 7MT without PSE but with S.C. has no change in exhaust note with Sport mode selected on the rotary control.

I’m not near my car, but from memory:

- idle speed increases slightly
- operating temp reduces from 217°F to 194°F

I believe the throttle response is also remapped. Plus other settings but I’m not 100% sure.

Thank you for replying to my query. I do have Sport Chrono and my temperatures do decrease and my idle speed does increase when I turn the rotary dial to "Sport" mode. This seems to match the observations reported by Rich_Jenkins, who also claims to hear no difference in exhaust note when in Sport Mode, so I guess there's nothing wrong with my car.

Thanks again all.

I assume you get the burbles in sport mode? Put a decibel meter behind the car after you warm it up well and goose the gas to measure the sound difference. The differences inside the car is not that noticeable but outside you should hear it.

Follow link in this post to an excellent document on all the differences for the 991.2 including a description of all the Normal / Sport / Sport Plus Modes.

Thank you all for your input.
There are 2 items that have not been answered yet.

1. Is the sport mode without Chrono similar to the sport mode with Chrono or the sport plus mode with Chrono?
2. Do the active drivetrain mounts contribute noticeably to the ride comfort in normal mode at all?

Do you have the PSE? If not the sound will not change and that is normal for a car without it. I know that does not address your other questions but it does address your initial question.

Read this thread and it may help you understand. It is for a 992 but the basics are the same: https://rennlist.com/forums/992/1193...ust-on-c2.html

Yes! The sound symposer via little pipe connected to the intake sounds amazing on my NA car.
