I am assuming because the car was CPO that they would take out what doesn't belong. The dealer certified this care as having PDCC and sport exhaust (which works perfectly) although these two options are not on the build sheet. Retrofitting a sport exhaust is easy but I agree there is too much work involved with retrofitting PDCC. I called the dealer and they are working on verifying that. In the meantime looking at this build sheet the options do not add up to 129,000, What do you think? I am now leaning that this car has had PDCC all along but the build sheet is inaccurate. unfortunately, the car is in the shop for PPF so I can't look at the wheels or the engine but I will know soon. But again do these options below add up to 129,000, please let me know.

When they retrofitted the sports exhaust they used the PDCC button from the new button set because it looked cool.

All it would take is one quick spin through the Starbucks drive thru to confirm if you have, or have not, PDCC. Does your mocha latte spill? That is the question.

One thing i noticed is that Porsche does not have PDCC as an option for Carrera 4S on the configurator right now. I'm not sure if you could get it previously?

Yes could! I watched a few Porsche configurator on YouTube and it was there. PASM comes standard and you can add PDCC for $3160. I will take a look at the car again on Monday but for the time being I am thinking that i have PDCC and they retrofitted the sport exhausted. Adding up all the options: sapphire blue 710+ 14 way seats 2320+ Premium plus 3970+ sunroof in glass 1990+ PDK 3200+ sport Chrono 1920+ multifunctional steering wheel 615+ Steering wheel heating 250+ door sills illuminated 900 + sport techno 1355+ Park assist with camera 1035 to a base price of 105630 result in 123895 which is about 5250 short of 129070 which was MSRP. I think that was PDCC 3160 +i.c.w Rear axle steering at 2090. I know this has been a silly exercise but i now realize how unrealistic it is to expect a PDCC retrofit. Anyway i will know on Monday but i wanted to thank you all for your responses. I am heading to work now wish me a quiet shift :-)

Yea I added up the options. It seems it’s about 3-4K short based on the build on the sheet. But that would explain the sport exhaust or the pdcc not both. Makes more sense they sport exhaust was added later.

When the sport exhaust is added I believe you have to change out the center switch panel. Perhaps they ordered one for a PDCC car and that’s why the button is labeled so.

Just a guess.

It will be very obvious if you have PDCC from a simple driving experience.

As beat to death above:

  1. Car has PDCC from factory, build sheet is incorrect. Pretty likely.
  2. Car does not have PDCC, but has a button swapped in that says PDCC. If not #1, almost certainly the answer.
  3. Car has had PDCC retrofitted. Extremely unlikely.
Let us know who wins the chicken dinner, verified either through the dealer, personal inspection, or LexVan's Starbucks Latte test.

Extremely satisfying summary! We call this in medicine "Differential diagnosis" :-) and my "Gold Standard" test will be the "LexVan Latte Test"!! Seriously thank you everyone for all your help!
Cheers!

Hey Doc - Indeed, that is a good list of differential diagnoses. And I agree with the others that a 991 retrofitted with PDCC would be what we call in medicine (as I am sure you know) a "zebra." As in, possible to see in the wild, but very, very unlikely.

Please describe "simple driving experience."

The simplest way to tell the difference is to drive on really, really crappy surface streets. We have one of each: PDCC and non-PDCC. On smooth roads it's difficult to tell the difference just driving along.

Cornering is very flat. Right?? So, go test drive through a decent cloverleaf.

It's not as easy knowing which does and doesn't have PDCC unless you have significant seat time in both or you're on a test track.

A person who has no idea of this option on a Porsche wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They'd be just as blown away in a non PDCC car.
