Went down to a local coffee shop and, as always, parked at the furthest parking area from the stores - nobody in the row on either side or behind. Came out about 1/2 hour later and found this. Nobody else except these guys parked in the same row. Well at least they both parked far enough away.

I'd give these guys a big kiss - they are respectfully far away and have protected you from some other knucklehead that would really want to put the squeeze play on you. Yes, this is odd but the alternatives could be so much worse. Also, super jealous of just how large your parking spaces actually are. I can barely park my car between the lines and it is just awesome when a big SUV parks next to me.

They probably parked next to you because they know you won't do any damage to their cars.

The coffee shop I go to is in a smallish strip mall, so the parking lot is not quite so LARGE.

I had such a good time unloading an entire tube of sunblock on a Kia that gave me about 4 inches to get into my car. PFFFFLLTTTTTPPTTT.

Added benefit: more time to admire it as you return.

I also go to the same coffee shop every day but there is only street parking. Sometimes I get lucky and get one of the spots right outside..but this is a mixed blessing because it’s hard to relax and enjoy the coffee when you’re watching people parallel park in front of and behind your car constantly on a busy road! 🤯

Face it, most people operate on auto pilot (and not a very smart one). When something nudges their OS that its time to park, they engage copycat mode and scan for something to guide them. Thus, they park next to your car.

If you have any doubt about this, stand in any public area and look up.
