Default Another Oil Analysis report for what it's worth.

Just got this report from Blackstone. Normal results for a car with 18000 miles. This is a keeper.

That would be interesting to see since you are changing at that interval. For those who are keeping their cars 5K intervals is the magic number.

For comparisons, you can search for my UOA thread and find data going all the way back to 2014.

What oil was tested on 4/30/2016 in the last column? Just curious since you had some out of spec results. Thanks

Trucheli, comparing my old reports to yours, at about the same mileage (20K) and interval (5K), my wear metals are very similar, for Alum, Iron, and Copper. The notable difference is iron. You are at 8ppm while I'm at 5 ppm. I do run a billet magnetic oil drain plug from L&N Engineering. Just an idea if you like this kind of stuff and want to experiment.

Do they make one for the 991.2 that you don't have to keep replacing?

I don't think so, but ask the owner, Charles Navarro, if he's working on one. Great question. If anyone is, it will be him and Jake Raby.

Thanks for the comparison. Regarding the drain plug, how often do you change it?

It's just like the OE plug. You only change the crush washer. Torque spec is a low low 19 ft lbs. Make sure you note that.

Plastic oil pan and the twist-loc drain plug is the problem - Porsche recommends replacing it every oil change. They use a similar one on the Macan and other engines. If you don't change them, they leak (I experienced this myself). I made prototype 3d printed magnetic plastic drain plug, but it scared the hell out of me.

We have made billet replacements before for the 991.2. A 2.5 quart deep sump is in the works and will have two magnetic drain plugs fitted rather than one single plug, like our current billet 9A1 pan.

This was the first one fitted at Flat 6 Innovations beginning of 2018.

Thanks, I just finished boxing up a couple different cars' oil samples to send them off.
Will be interesting to compare levels of metal in the same M1 5w/50 from 3 different engines.
