according to tech he said the pcm version does not update only the map software version and map data . I ask why a road of a major highway entrance and exit has not been updated . The road has been built for 4-5 years but still try’s and route me they old way thru town . He said just maybe maps were not complete from porsche
@Tbounds - Is the system still waiting you to "confirm" the update (picture 3)? The second picture still shows the error as well and that is not normal. I would push the dealership on this and ask them to contact their tech support at PCNA.

My 2014 991.1 is at my local dealership for service today. I asked my service tech about the navigation update. His response was that it would be easier for me to simply order the discs online and do the update myself. He said that all I have to do is load them into the CD slot and the car would perform the necessary update. This doesn't sound right to me, based on what I've read on rennlist. Thoughts?

Navigation Update has to be done by the dealer. You can buy the update license key online, but the dealer has to purchase the actual map update DVDs. They load the DVDs and then using the pIWIS they enter your license key to activate it and make it usable by the PCM.

PCM Software version can be done by anyone.

You can follow the thread for the Software, Map, and License key part numbers.

I thought that was the case. I thought I’d post it here since it was so different from what I’ve read here.
