Default New Jongbloed Racing Wheels for the T

Picked up gorgeous 19 inch wheels from Jongbloed Racing Wheels (JRW) today. Now million dollar question. Will they fit over PCCBs and RAS? Ryan at JRW is confident they will. He has made similar sets for 991 GT3s. He has never steered me wrong across all my race cars so can’t wait to mount these puppies!

It seems the question should have been asked before you bought them.

These aren’t off shelf wheels - custom built to narrow body offsets with pccbs and RAS. He has built over 10 sets across multiple custom setup cars over past 10 years for me without an issue including multiple sets of 18 inch race wheels on my PCCB equipped cayman. He knew dimensions and they are custom built to clear 991.2 pccbs. But always a chance of an issue but pretty sure won’t have a problem.. Will know soon enough. Worse case I will pull pccb brakes and use after market brake setup long term. I hadn’t realized just how big pccbs were when I ordered the car and I’d rather lose brakes than not use 19 inch wheels due to tire availability. As indicated he has built similar dimension 19 inch wheel for 991 gt3 with pccbs. So I don’t think I will have an issue but I am a realist when striking out doing new wheel on unfamiliar platform.

Close but they appear to fit! Roughly 1/4 inch clearance . Maybe hard to see as wheel has a ridge that falls away at caliper. Similar clearance to what I have seen with 19 inch Forgeline wheels on PCCB equipped cars. Rears look good.

Now ny next trick - fitting 265 Hoosier under front fender on these wheels! Plenty of room in back for 315

Yep debating on whether to sell pccbs and use smaller rotor and caliper ....just hate to lose pccbs. Car is primarily Autocross and street car so not overly worried about wear on the ceramics.

If damn Hoosier would make 20 inch A7 in my sizes I’d stick with 20s. They just aren’t committing on doing A7s yet. They make r7 but that won’t cut it in Competitive AX events.

Keep the PCCBs. The only option I regretted not getting was PCCBs but I took care of that a couple months ago:

Holy crap that's tight. That will look insane with some fatty hoosiers.

They were spec'd at 19x9 front and 19x11.5 rear. However when I measure them its more like 19x9.25 front and 19x11.75 rear. Thats measuring inside widths.. Outside is little wider - more like 9.5 and 12. They fit great however. ....definitely wider than my stock 11.5. Offsets on these wheels are same front and rear at 71.5 mm. These offsets works quite well and worse case might need small spacer up front but I think I will have clearance when I install my new coilovers. Being a autocross and hillclimbing nerd Im pretty committed to using Hoosier A 7s . If I wasn't stuck on getting A7 on this car Id stay with 20 inch wheels. Part of me still questions if this is right call but its more because this is such a beautiful car that I dont want to scratch up calipers. Im sure Ill get over that as time goes on.

These are not lightest wheels in world weighing in low to mid 23-25 lb range but they are super stout wheels- not typical flexy flier 3 piece wheels I have used from Jongbloed. I like strong wheels when they are one piece units like these so while not feather weights they are in similar range to OEM. Its not unusual to hit a pothole or dip off road in turn etc in hillclimbs so like fact they are beefy.

There is a big ridge on front part of wheel and just behind it wheel becomes recessed so pics make clearance look closer than it really is . Most of caliper in front clears by 1/4 to 1/2 inch but still close enough that I think pebbles will get caught between wheel and caliper occasionally. Things we do to go faster!
