Just took off my silver ff15 for black ff04. The silver finish is definitely more robust. And you cant see minor stuff through the finish.

So far I have not chosen to change wheels on my 911 because I am rather fond of the OEM in statin black.

Not once have I had an issue with the finish on the wheels. If I did, I would have brought it to the attention to the dealer who sold to me and let the warranty process evolve.
Whoa, killin it bro with the Audi's. Were these cars driven or used to car shows and photos? Were you hellaflush?

I'm not sure why some of you weirdos are getting offended over this topic. Go change your tampons. To all others, I genuinely appreciate the comments/feedback instead of blindly mauling me for making this thread.

Theres also a spot on my front wheel where the plastic tip of my pressure washer just barely touched the wheel without much force and the finish rubbed up and exposed the metal beneath.

Here are some photos.

Poor finish quality?

Just running your finger lightly across it flakes them up/off

This is a piece that flaked off by the ridge of my fingerprint.

I currently have a set of HRE RC100's in standard gloss silver and the finish is really nice. Is it absolutely stellar? No, I wish the aluminum was finished out one more step before coating but it is excellent for a standard finish. Ive owned many sets of high end wheels in my time and I would say these are one of the best I've had. No issues whatsoever. **** happens even to the best of manufacturers products and sometimes you get the bum hand. If you're out of your warranty period I would just have the wheels recoated and forget about it. Also, running more aggressive wheel fitments causes lots of things to chip on these cars, including the wheels.

Wow, I’ve never seen HREs or any well known brand peel like that. Could it be that maybe they were refinished outside of HRE, or did you buy them brand new? Certainly reach out to the vendor you bought them from or the manufacturer. Doesn’t HRE have a warranty on their finishes? I know my BC Forged wheels have a warranty guaranteeing the finish for so many years.

I had HREs and the finish was very good, mind you it was about 10 years ago. If you don`t like the finish wait until you drive them in the rain...if deep dish barrels they vibrate when water gets in

I have had three sets of wheels though wheels boutique the last few years. 2 sets were hre premium finish which were both excellent. That flaking is not normal. I would reach out to wheels boutique, I’m sure they will help you resolve your issue. I had a Tpms issue with one of my sets and they bent over backwards to make it right for me. Good luck!

That's good to hear. I will be contacting them soon but I'm not sure what they could really do for me. They are CL wheels with tires mounted on. Would be a PITA to remove and ship out.

Yeah, hellaflush, you got me. Your'e a ****ing disrespectful idiot. Did you make the post for advice, sympathy, validation or all three? You asked if anyone has had the issue, it appears that you are in the minority here.

R101LW's retail for $2200+ per wheel, there is at best $800-900 in material and labor in each wheel. Wheels Boutique makes at minimum 35 points on each wheel and they are HRE's #1 reseller globally. Pretty confident they can come up with a solution, however it you approach them as you have us, it may be more challenging.

I gave you the contact information for Wheels Boutique. Use it.

I make a thread for advice and awareness and I get oversensitive posts and replies like this one right here. By fanboys who are overly attached to inanimate objects. I'm the "****ing disrespectful idiot". What are you? Coming in and telling me to move on... Huh? Just because it's an HRE it can't possibly have flaws and defects apparently. What if it's not Wheels Boutiques fault?

Time is valuable sonny. Unless Wheels Boutique is willing to come across the country to take my car to have the wheels dismounted, and remounted.. There's nothing they can do other than send me some $$$ which I doubt they'd do... Either way, nothing can compensate the downtime of the car and going back and forth to a shop.

The real question is... Why are you so mad?
