Default HRE Wheel Finish Quality-Poor?

My Satin Black HRE R101 LW which I presume are the creme de la creme of HRE's has a terrible finish. One of the spokes has chunks coming off which is leading me to believe that Wheels Boutique sold me refinished wheels which were done poorly or that the HRE finish itself sucks. The rest of the wheels have several tiny chips all over them.. I can understand the tiny chips from daily driving but the black finish actually flaking off in chunks?

Anybody have this issue?

Have you contacted Wheels Boutique or HRE about this? I just had my HRE P40 SCs refinished at the factory for a color change, I found their service and workmanship to be outstanding.

Did you reach out to the vendor(s) before making this post?

No, Mom. I didn't reach out to the vendor. I'm attempting to gather data first because it may not be a vendor issue. Besides, there's nothing they can do for me at this point.

Perhaps offer some insightful information instead of trying to be funny and wishing me "luck". Don't be so salty please.

ive seen many hre wheels in person, their standard +$0 finishes like silver and black are usually mediocre at best. the custom ones like fog, stone, brushed, etc look amazing however

My Flow Form HRE's had an excellent finish considering they are the 'cheaper' HRE's. They were done in bronze although I did not own the car long so can't speak about longevity.

Just about every single car I have owned since 2004 has had HRE's on it. 2004 Audi A4 HRE 540SC, 19 x 8.5", 19 x 9.5" custom finished centers in Ebony Pearl Effect Painted with polished lips, after 6 years of ownership I had them refinished by HRE in satin black powder coat. No chipping in the 13 years I owned the car. 2009 Audi A4 HRE P43S, standard silver powder coat finish 19 x 9", 2013 Audi S5 HRE P40SC 20 x 8.5", 20 x 11" satin black powder coat finish, 2014 Audi S6 HRE S107 3 piece brush dark clear powder coat with polished step lips 21 x 9.5", 2014 Audi S4 HRE Flowform FF01 19 x 9" Tarmac (not sure if the FF's are paint or powder) finish. 2016 Porsche Macan Turbo HRE Flowform FF04 Liquid Silver 20 x 9.5", 20-10.5". So far I have not chosen to change wheels on my 911 because I am rather fond of the OEM in statin black.

Not once have I had an issue with the finish on the wheels. If I did, I would have brought it to the attention to the dealer who sold to me and let the warranty process evolve.

I bought a used satin black FF01 and the guy tracked it and there was nicks but no peeling of the paint.
