Being in the Bay Area with police who frown on dark tint, I went with 70% on the windshield, 60% on the sides, and 50% on the rear. I'm looking more for IR reflectivity than appearance.
Thanks All, I'm now swaying between 35 Sides/ 20% back and 35% all around. The back is a big piece of glass, but seems to have a greenish tinge to it already.
How about pics of any cabs with TINT with the top down and windows up? I can't seem to be able to tint my cab windows because with the top down and windows up, it just looks strange (in my imagination) ...
I would first consider your tint laws. https://tintlaws.com/california-window-tint-law.php. Our windows come from the manufacture at 70%, this is different from the additive tint we use. Just consider what you are going for and how feel like dealing with the law.
I went with 50% all around with 3M Crystalline, found out that goes on car fax records. This was also pricier - varies locations. Paid $599, though I did get some discount - came down to just over $500. Anyways, I love it. It reduces the heat transfer inside the vehicle for sure and as I am getting a little older I enjoy the cleanliness and transparency. I have from 5% and up throughout the years. I would say anything 40-50% is best. Our windows will add about a 5-7% variance.. Also any reader will have like 3-4 variance.
So keep things in mind and do your research.

You're so legally compliant! w/ that front plate too
ive been driving in bay area for a long time w/o front plates and always 35% tint, i must be lucky *knocks on wood
I did 20% all around except rear window has limo. I hate the headlights that beam straight in. Interior color plays a roll as well on how dark the tint will look.Nobody seems to care how dark the tint is in AZ.

3M Crystalline is one of the tints I was referring to that does everything a tint should do but is not pitch Black like other tints that do not perform as well, which is why I said that the dark ones are really just for cosmetic purposes.
