DonT know that I’d ever sell it in its current form. Most of parts I pulled are like new and stored in plastic tubs in my garage. Pretty easy for me to reinstall if I ever sell this one which is doubtful. The couple of rear trim pieces I pulled insulation from I’ve already bought new pieces and put into storage. There isn’t a single modification I can’t return to stock.

At 6’4 and 260 lbs I don’t fit well in the Exige platform very easily. ….And plus it’s a lotus 😂.. I run events with lotus club and dispatch exige’s quite handily with this car. I also run a class with minimum weight of 2930 lbs including driver.

I've always called a Lotus a go-cart with a roof. At 6' 1" and 195, I sat in a 430 CUP and it would not be my pick as a daily driver. But it does have a Toyota/Lexus engine. Probably just as reliable if not more and at 440 HP at ~2350 pounds, my guess it would be a great track-only car.

Tial 3d printed titanium headers
i depend on RAS in slow turns that I encounter in autocross and hillclimbs so it stays.

Who makes titanium headers!!?

I was pleased to save 7.5lbs removing the "rear seat delete" beauty panel recently.

Porsche states that RAS deleted on the 992 S/T saved 14.33lbs

I really have a hard time believing the 992 S/T is 3056lbs with a full tank, when 991T's with all lightweight options are around 150lbs more. Porsche seems like they underrate their engine power but also understate their weight.

In another forum in a 992T thread, owner(s) all boast about the light weight.

So for the fun of it I looked up base weights of a 992 T, a RWD vehicle and my 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS, an AWD vehicle. The GTS was lighter, not that it matters in the real world on the street. Must be the turbos and additional items related to them. Weight data came from Porsche.

That and options play a big role Many people are running around who assume their cars are 3150lbs like Google says but on the scales are 3400-3500lbs.

My well-optioned C2S 991.1 was 3394 lbs with lightweight forged HRE wheels.

I put my T on the scales again yesterday after I made some changes to my speakers, added a small amount of dynamat, coilovers, and wheels... 3240 lbs full tank

If still running the 918-style seats, there's definitely some weight to be saved with a proper race seat—but guessing you are sticking with them for the airbags?

This build continues to inspire me, and I can see why you don't see yourself selling the car in the future. The 991.2 Carrera/S/T is a unique proposition between weight, size (particularly width), copious low-end torque and linear power delivery, purity of purpose (or the ability to get it there), and just plain fun. My Carrera needs to do (way) too many things to get this pure, but it's fun to see what's possible.

991.1 is definitely the sweet spot in terms of weight for the modern generations. To get a comparable weight, you need to go back to the 993s!

I've got a 991.1 S that could be described as a lightweight spec (Manual, no sunroof, RWD, limited options besides PSE + SC).
I'm thinking about putting it on a scale once I get lightweight forged wheels and an Anti-gravity battery. But those are "V2" upgrades and I'm still working on finishing "V1" =)

Exactly why I stated base models, because I like an apples to apples comparison without worrying what options various owners have.

And in the end, I am one of those owners not too worried about weight for street use or if I took part, in DE days, as long as it is not some crazy number. Now if I were in competitive racing, that would be different.

By the way, I always liked Jack Olsen's videos. Sure, there are always faster cars down a straight, all it takes is more HP and any clown can go fast in a straight line.

Deleted radio, amp and speakers, removed symposers, removed heat shielding around muffler, removed steel bracket supporting heat shield and lower portion of bumper, deleted sensors and wiring in bumper covers, deleted automatic radiator slats , pulled all crazy heavy foam insulation and plastics out of the rear of the car and used Velcro to hold carpets in place (looks Stock!), pulled rear bumper bar, deleted all stuff in the frunk, pulled huge cabin air filter box, modified my wiper system to driver side only, pulled windshield wiper bottle and pump, titanium headers, pulled smaller bumper bar structure in front, debating pulling larger one. Pulled most of cosmetic plastics out of frunk as well as rear engine lid area, Pulled cup holders. Still debating AC delete.

What error codes pop up when you remove the radio, back-up camera screen?

Data point: My T (manual, 4-way seats, RAS, Bose, no sunroof)) with a FULL tank of fuel (64L, 16.9 US gal, 14.1 IMP gal) scaled at 1470kg/3241lbs with all factory equipment such as books, compressor etc in the car. 101-105lbs of that is fuel. When parked beside my former 993 C2 manual coupe (sport seats, 18" hollow spoke wheels, sunroof), the 991 T is significantly larger in every dimension. It also has larger wheels and tires and has two turbochargers with their intercoolers as well as a water cooling system vs air/oil for the older car. The additional safety and other equipment is another factor. And yet when weighed in the same way with a full tank of fuel (slightly larger at 72L, 19 US gal), my 993 weighed 1440kg/3173lb. Recap in isolation:

1997 993 Carrera 2 manual coupe (sunroof, sport seats, 18" hollow spokes, 72L of fuel):
-1440kg/3173lbs

2019 991.2 Carrera T manual (NO sunroof, RAS, Bose, 4-way sport seats plus, 64L of fuel):
-1470kg/3241lbs

Is there any other car that has managed it's weight as well over that time frame?

Dang I accidentally pulled wire out of my scales and it’s going to take a while to resolder connection. Here are couple pics . As you can see it’s hard to tell I’ve done anything to car when front trunk is closed. Most all weight reduction is covered or in upgraded lighter components.

….yeah I pretty much bought this to be my last Porsche and T IN 991.2 world was truly a Club sport Carrera. I’ve just taken it to where I wish Porsche could but can’t. Relatively low entry price for a new car when I ordered it, I ordered fairly bare bones to keep weight down with all weight saving options, I did spend money on lava orange as that was color of my first Porsche. I knew I could modify this car to be very fast . 600 to 700 hp pretty easy to achieve. Tons of room for big wheels and tires - I run 19x12.5 with 325/30/19 in rear and 19x9.5 with 265/35/19 front. I have no trouble putting power down now.

‘’I know I could lose more weight by changing seats but I really want to keep it looking as stock as possible and yes airbags are a plus in a street car. Sort of a sleeper 911. I laugh as the car is still california smog legal but it makes about 500 hp now. That type of power coupled with being under 3000 lbs makes it a riot to drive. One interesting note - in pulling insulation out of the back I discovered Porsche left rear airbags in even on rear seat delete cars. I haven’t pulled them yet as I don’t know how to disable airbag warning for those bags. But once I do even more weight to come out!

I still have about 50 lbs more I can pull out before it starts looking like a race car. I still have stock cats - one thing I haven’t looked into is if anyone makes lightweight flywheel and clutch for 9A2 cars.- debating on AC delete.

I get a single Fault warning when I turn on ignition. Very easy to clear - I know it can be cleared permanently with PWIS just haven’t had opportunity to have it cleared yet.
