Default How different is Turbo S from 4s, owners feedback requested

Folks ,
Help needed please
I have a liking / itch for a used 991 turbo S after i test drove a turbo S , the way it pushes and pulls delt very different from the 991 c4s . I would like to get feedback on what i am getting into in terms
1) turbo ownership
2) Tire wear due to additional torque
3) other maintenance over 4s if any
4) Other things to keep in mind

it is one thing to go do a small test drive and another thing that knowledge comes from really own one

Thanks in advance

Came from a 991.1 4S to the 991.1 TTS. I did have 4 previous TT Porsche's so I am very familiar with the TT cars.

1) Turbo ownership - As I said I had 4 previous Porsche TT cars of prior generations. What is not to like for me. Minimal to no lag, ungodly amounts of power, with AWD and RWS to make it one of the best overall drives with super car capabilities.
2) Tire wear - I don't use Launch Control to pull into Starbucks and I haven't really noticed any unusual wear in comparison to the 4S. It is AWD so you are not leaving "hole shots" with every take off. I would say comparable to 4S.
3) Other maintenance - I don't want to jinx myself but this is my 5th TT iteration and they are solid and can be driven daily. I don't burn a drop of oil, change mine every 5-7k, follow the maintenance schedule and drive it.
4) other things - Amazing car to drive and get to know personally so you can really get out of it what is there. The TT cars are a part of Porsche history and they are always top performers, you will want an exhaust as the TT and TTS are not "growly" but there are great options that won't put you in the poor house, Kline Iconel, Europipe Stage 2, I also have the Cobb tune with the PDK update that I added mostly for the PDK software but the power kick is nice to have in a car that is already scary fast. It handles beautifully and once you have confidence in the car and you it has unbelievable ability.

Although I did not come to my TTS from 4s, but rather from 2 previous C2Ss and a GTS I cant agree more with what Penn posted.
So here are my answers.
1) - Coming from a Carrera S to a Turbo is experiencing completely different level of performance. The ownership is nothing but very pleasing experience. I DD my 911s, including my TTS and the TTS is more enjoyable as a daily driver or a long trip companion IMO.
2) - I did not notice substantial differences between 991 CS or a GTS vs my TTS. I have RAS and expected the rear tires wear out sooner, but it is not much different.
3) - reliability wise it has been solid. I am in a CPO warranty now and then I have extended Porsche warranty just in case. So far so good.
4) - I have PCCB and absolutely love them. No more dirty wheels and amazing stopping power. Also with many GT3 cars around where I drive it is nice to have a TTS capable of being equally or better car for street use. Getting many friendly waves.
I also noticed that Tesla model 3 drivers are more interested in beating me at traffic lights than back when I had my GTS, but hey back then it were no model 3s, so it is perhaps due to younger Tesla drivers demografics rather than type of my 911. I do not race on streets, so that attention does not bother me.

Hope this helps.

Beyond oil changes, scheduled maintenance for the Turbo is non-trivially more expensive than normally aspirated 991s.

One thing I have yet to spend time figuring out is that my 991 TT feels and sounds more 'solid' than the wife's 991C2S. It's quieter which is expected due to the turbos. But, the doors 'thunk' while the wife's doors are a bit 'clangy.' Same subjective difference with road noise. Go figure.

Otherwise, yeah, what Papa and Penn said: Turbo is another level.

I came from 2012 C2S TO MY 2015 TTS. They are completely different cars in just about every measurement. I agree with everything above. Mine is also a CPO car and a daily driver. I have done several 3 day trips and the car is always comfortable and reassuring.

Awesome reviews gents. Thanks. I will eventually move up to a TTS from my 911C2S. I am flying to LA Thursday to go to the Porsche Experience Center to drive a turbo and GT3. Should be a blast.
