Default My week long adventure

I always enjoy reading about the adventures people take, enjoying life and their 911’s. I bought my first Porsche last August, and one of the first road trips was shooting over to visit my daughter at KU, and then headed down to Porsche Palooza in November of 2018. This was my first introduction to Arkansas and the wonderful roads they have to offer.

So fast forward to 2019 and I told my wife I wanted to take her with me on a short road trip in the car. Now she’s not exactly comfortable with spirited driving, so it’s gonna have to be a balance. I left St. Louis today, drove down to Table Rock Lake and arrived just in time to watch my Blues open a can of whoop *** on the San Hose Sharks. Wife isn’t joining me till Tuesday, so today it’s all about me. 😉

After that great win today, I had a tough decision to make. Boat or Porsche. Porsche won, so I took a big ole loop around the lake enjoying the back roads of southern Missouri. After that is was time for a big daddy steak on the grill and watch another fantastic sunset and a nice glass of wine. Part of me struggles with sharing this kind a stuff cause it sounds like bragging, but I hope you understand that’s not my intention. I work my *** off, and have been looking forward to this for quite a few months,

Tuesday the wife arrives, and we’re gonna spend 2 days starting Wednesday driving around Arkansas back roads, lodging at Mount Magazine Lodge and Eureka Springs.

No humidity and a perfect Spring evening

My intentions are to post some pics every day and let you guys come along for the journey. There will be some stuff not car related, but’s it’s things I enjoy. 😊

Love it! Go Blues. It's about time we see a 1970 Stanley Cup finals rematch

Thanks for sharing - and no, it's not bragging. I love these kinds of posts sharing one's journeys (with or without a Porsche).
I will be rooting for the Blues too since my Red Wings are not in the playoffs!

This is a safe space for this type of sharing. You are doing it right! My wife is the same as yours - she just can't take spirited driving so I think you made the right choice by having her meet you a few days in. Enjoy the s**t out of your trip. I am jealous...and that is totally OK!

I agree, as someone posted before, it’s not bragging. I enjoy reading stories like this. This is what life is about. Making the time for you, family or whoever, and doing what pleases you and adventuring and exploring. Life is boring doing the norm all of the time. I’m a car fanatic, and absolutely appreciate and love just about anything good. But a Porsche 911 has always been a dream of mine, and I’ve had so many opportunities to purchase one, but always skipped. I guess my fear was always that I would be let down, or that I would get sick of it like I do with every other car(happens a lot). But, since purchasing the car, my wife sees the passion I have for it, and she is a car nut herself. She enjoys going on drives together, and it opens up a lot of opportunities to visit and do things you probably wouldn’t. So to hear these types of stories, I get it, and appreciate them. Live well and enjoy what life offers.

There are some great drives around Eureka Springs! Our PCA chapter had a small group spend three nights and two full days of driving in the area Labor Day Weekend 2018. Check out the video I made after the trip. We are doing the drive again this year and I can't wait as the roads are great and the scenery is awesome. A few great restaurants and fun lunch spots as well. You will have a great time!

I had similar telemetry about a year ago coming back from Vegas. I had to stop at 410 miles (full bladder). I had an average speed of 79MPH, spirited driving to say the least. Coming across Nevada and parts of California I had the cruise control set at 100. Yes, I have a radar detector.

Nice trip report. If we cant be there we want to hear about it from someone who actually is there and who knows, maybe one day we will make our way up way there based on your TR
