Hey superdog, let’s plan a Saturday and Sunday to meet and go for s drive and stop in to eat afterwards. I know some time ago we talked about that. I’m in Pompton Lakes, and I think you were close by.

Lacking a functional garage, my cars live outside all year long in NE PA. No special care taken, other than regular washing, supplemented with quick removal of bird droppings and trying to avoid trees. No observed problem with my 991.1 that was traded in at what seemed a reasonable price after 3 1/2 years of ownership. Approaching three years on my current 991,2 without visible problems.

Yeah man. Let’s do this. Would be super.

Let me know when, after I get approval from my wife, I’m in. Can’t wait.

Thanks everyone.

I ordered ragg top and will apply this week.

And I’ll continue to religiously keep it clean. Good to see others keep it out year round.

Super helpful. Thanks again.

Congrats on the 458 - I hate to admit but that's one of the select few that would bump my 911 out of the garage.

I wouldn't even cover a clean car. Debris will make its way under the cover and cause marring and swirls. Anything that touches the paint without lubrication will cause micro marring. Keep the paint protected with wax, sealant or a coating and wash it on a regular basis and it will be fine. Maintain the fabric roof as well on a regular basis.

Thank you. I am actually thinking now that I will put the 458 in a local storage space that caters to exotics.

I will likely keep it in my home for the summer and then put it away for winters. that is the plan right now anyway.

the 458 does not have a lift though. so I have my SA coming to my house today to ensure i don't scrape in my driveway. based on ferrarichat, i am thinking that it will be okay. but better safe than sorry.

My coupe lives outdoors year round in Chicago. The only concession to the weather is ceramic tint on the rear window. Your decision depends on how OCD you are about your cars. (A current picture of mine would get me banned by half the users here.)

I park in the driveway most of the time instead of in the garage. Under a tree too. I also drive it in the snow. Only paint protection I have is the front clip has PPF, and a quick at-home ceramic coating with Avalon King's stuff. Guess it all depends on your tolerance of "dirty", and how often you want to drive the car.
