Default GTS wheel question

I like the GTS and would shop for a used one. Maybe the one thing I don’t care for as much are the solid black wheels. I think after market centerlocks are going to be a bit too expensive for me to change out so I wanted to know what are some of good options that a wheel refinisher could maybe do to give the stock wheels a better look? For the record one of my favorite looks is the painted Sport Techno.

I have seen some cars with five lug Carrera S wheels and I suppose that’s one option for me. And it seems those cars are priced better? If so by how much?

Any reason the painted sport techno wouldn’t look as good on a GTS as on a regular widebody 991?

I ordered my GTS with the 5 spokes, in Satin Black, since I did not like the look of the centerlocks, but some feel the latter are a hassle so cars like mine are not less money, if that is what you mean by priced better. Every car has to be judged as a whole taking into account every option, or lack thereof, color, etc. and most importantly what you are willing to pay for what you want. You can always buy the wheels you want after you buy a car and sell the take-offs so don't let those dictate your decision.

By 5 spoke do you mean Sport Techno? Can you post a pic?

I looked into having the black center lock wheels refinished. i'm sure there are vendors in Dallas/Plano can paint them any color you want. I'm going to redo mine in silver like the GT3 wheels.

You can CXX them from the factory but its uber expensive. I got a quote for $1500 I think to redo mine

I had some extra centrelock wheels made up by BC forged (UK importer but I know they sell into US) not too expensive. Also another option is to have the std wheels diamond cut like on the turbo, I'm 99% sure it's the same wheel.

Is your car the second picture in graphite blue? That’s a nice looking wheel and color

My car is at the dealer as I write this. I'm having my CL satin black wheels powder coated in Platinum. Should be back middle of next week. If you're interested I'll post a picture here. It will also be on another thread.

Gkgeiger-
I would like to see a pic of your powder coated wheels. I have been thinking of doing the same.
Thx

Checkraze, aftermarket center lock wheels do not cost more that 5 lug wheels. Check, out Forgeline wheels for example on pricing...or look at the BBS FI-R on Tire Rack. Also if you are just looking for a great looking strong wheel that comes in many finishes look at OZ HLT wheels for your car on a Tire Rack. HRE also has a Flow Form-wheel too that is nice looking...Wheels Boutique, Tag and somemother Rennlist vendors sell them.
