The black car sounds amazing because its a 997.2 GTS - naturally aspirated 3.8 with side cans and center muffler delete. Basically straight pipes from the cat back. The 3.0 Turbo motors sound awesome with modifications- in this case cat bypass - but still not the same as a NASP motor.

everyone warned me “you can NOT delete the side cans and center muffler” “its too loud” but I disagree.

this is video of cat bypass pipes - stock T pse muffler
was considering adding the sharkwerks center bypass, but im told with sport and sport + engaged it’s essentially a straight through muffler. any thoughts?
Nice sound on the 911T. Which tips are on that muffler?

Exhausts purchased after the group buy should already have the changes made. It should be easy to add this part.
Finally was able to mount these reinforcements today. Didn't even lift the car. Very easy and directions are spot on. If you haven't mounted yet, just don't be afraid to bend them a bit and definitely keep the nut end down and close to the bottom of the bottom pipe or you'll run out of space for your wench to turn the nut. Very solid reinforcement for the welds.

Edit: ugh; I just realized how much I’ve used the word “ditto” in this thread. My bad, guys. I promise I know how to be talkin good and words and things. I blame newborn induced sleep deprivation and hastily posting during nonexistent free time. 🤪🤙🏻

I’m having trouble reinstalling the tips at the same level at the originally were. It’s just too tight.

Does anyone have an idea idea what I could use to stretch the hole on the back of the tips?

Did you really really let the pb blast etc soak in (I left mine almost a whole day)? Have you loosened the clamp all the way? I didn’t have a ton of trouble but I also understand my experience was a little more unique. I’d really hesitate to try to stretch or bend the hole outward because it will only make lining the tips up well more difficult afterward. Maybe get them on a best you can and then really really let the penetrating oil sit and work on it a little at a time with the clamps all the way loose? I realize that’s not ideal because you can’t drive around like that but I’m just worried on your behalf about trying to stretch or bend anything....

Can anyone tell me (first hand experience) if the exhaust will produce less turbo whistle than the sport cats? I installed sport cats but not loving all of the additional turbo noise. I am considering removing the sport cats and purchasing the exhaust.

Thanks

it absolutely will. If you don’t like turbo noises, keep the oe cats.

I kept the OE cats. You're still going to hear induction, particularly from a stop, but it's minimal. Several posts about cats and a straight pipe being too much. I'd agree. Love this exhaust note now and the lack of a bread box is a bonus for sure.

Good luck!

You will definitely hear more turbo spooling with the Sharkwerks. It sounds great but is definitely louder than stock.

If anyone is interested in the 991.2 Sharkwerks let me know. Mine is coming off today in anticipation of selling my car. Asking $1500 for it shipped to CON US.

Thanks!

Cyberbug had a thread where he discussed this. For him, it was too loud to have both sport cats and sharkwerks and he sold the sharkwerks. I have the muffler delete and like it - there is some very minor drone at low rpms but that is not a real issue for me. It is louder but not really that loud and you hear more turbo spool. Soul did a video explaining how the muffler delete was not really needed so you can search for that. Either way I've had it for a few years now....likely not getting sport cats due to emissions in Cali so the exhaust is my next best option.

Bottom line, take headers and one other and you will be fine. Mix and match sport cats and muffler delete and it may be too much for a street car.
