991 full leather seats reupholstered with Pepita inserts, possible?
Hi everyone! I really like the look of the 50th anniversary 911, specially the Pepita cloth on the seats so I was wondering if it is possible to convert regular full leather 991 seats into looking like the 50th anniversary ones. If so, anyone have any recommendation for a shop that can do a good job in New Jersey? Thanks!!!

If you are looking for material that matches the 50th it’s my understanding its very difficult to locate the actual material type. However, there is a company in Germany that makes seat inserts with what appears to be actual material that matches the 50th cloth. Here is their website. https://www.rennwerkstatt.us/

Thanks for all the info. These are actually 18 way adaptive sport seat plus. I am able to procure the cloth from a vendor in the UK, the question was if they can just reupholster the center panels without needing to do anything to the bolsters / side panels (to have the same finish as the 50th anniversary).

I can vouch for Rennwerkstatt's quality. They make OEM, factory-quality houndstooth inserts. They offer the 911 50 insert. I went with the 991 R houndstooth inserts for my GT3T. They look and feel amazing. Cost about 4k for the pair. They use the actual foam that Porsche uses as well as the cloth. The owner of the company, Sascha, used to work for Porsche Exclusive (Cxx) and he still has connections with them, so he is able to procure factory parts. He gets my highest recommendation.

If you’re willing to pay the cost and your upholsterer can locate Pepita fabric (or a suitable substitute), then your leather covered seat cover could be removed and another made using the existing leather as a template. Effectively, you’re not going back to standard, but it is an achievable outcome.

You can order seat cover replacements from Porsche. It can't hurt to ask if you can order a 50th cover which would include the Pepita centers, and solid bolsters etc.... Or find a guy that has a 50th and have him ask to order a replacement. It's probably cheaper to have custom covers made that look OEM. But if money is no object....

Remember that if your existing seats are ventilated, you will lose this feature by adding the pepita inserts. Seat heating is fine, but not ventilation.
