Default Correct Jack Pads For 991.2 Targa

Does anyone have a link to the correct jack pad (s) I'll need to jack up my (soon to arrive) 991.2 Targa?

I found a few threads here but nothing conclusive on exactly what I need.

Thanks!

fastforddriver,

Congratulations on the new 991.2 Targa ... you will be amazed at the performance & how fun it is!

You can find a larger selection from hockey pucks to Porsche specially pucks! I found a simple cheap puck that works just fine between the floor jack and the lift points. (see photo).

Caution ... You will also fined a big select high dollar jack stands etc ...if you want to get all four wheels off for what ever! I found that buying two low cost low profile floor jacks from "Harbor Freight" works well. The 911 chassis is so stiff that if you jack at the rear jack point the complete side rises ... just put a standard jack stand under the front jack point for stability (I used some leveling blocks from my motorhome).

The other costly item is a 4 foot long Precision Instruments torque wrench (443ftlb.), if you have center lock wheels? Plus a breaker bar!

Enjoy!

A couple Rennlisters make them, search the Marketplace...I bought a set and they work perfectly. I just found the person that makes them that I bought from, Dan: User ID: the-track-guy (the911guy@hotmail.com)

You can use an actual hockey puck. You don't need anything special.

True, but I like to save money as much as anyone and for about $50 you can buy ones that you simply push in and twist, which is much easier and they line up perfectly and will not move around. And

true, but I have to line up the jack, so lay a puck on top of jack, line up and you are ready.

i just swapped my wheels and no issues at all.

suggest 2 alignment lugs. More important than special pucks.

also the socket/wrench is important. If your socket is not deep, the wench comes really close to car fenders.

i just changed my wheels and it was very easy. If you want to spend $50 on pucks no problem. Custom pucks would not have made it easier or faster to change my wheels.

Ok, great input from everyone - I did forget about the alignment tool. Doh - I'll have to get that as well.

And for the socket, one with a soft cover helps prevent wheel scratches.

Nothing wrong with a piece of wood at all, but when they make a perfect fitting puck that locks in place, for not much money. Wood can splinter, scratch the car, collapse, etc. but yes, you can still use it. I have also seen people use hard rubber blocks as well but they too can move around if not careful. There are several options so whatever someone wants to use is fine, so no need to be confused anymore.

I bought the 4 pack of the ones listed in an earlier post. The ones from rennlister look nicer, but not something I cared to spend any extra on. These fit perfect.

These were my first option, but they are currently out of order at Amazon, so I ended up buying these instead and I'm pretty happy with the product:

PS: I spent hours researching different threads on this forum and I found so much information about how to properly/safely jack up a 911 that I decided to make a video with everything I learned as a way to give back to community:
(if you watch this please let me know if I missed anything, or if I am doing anything wrong)
