Just watched a video on Youtube showing this....took 15 minutes for the update. It's super simple, the key thing is to ensure that the electrical system doesn't shut down during the update.

Thanks for sharing the video, interesting that the software update is DIY.

Jumping backwards from 991.2 to 991.1 I do actually like the older black and orange style PCM, but miss Apple CarPlay functionality big time. My solution is to run Apple Maps on my iPhone X which fits perfectly in the pop out cup holder

Maps on order
I purchased the 2018 Nav update "pack" from SunCoast for my 2011 Panamera. Took it to Porsche Birmingham, once they hooked up the PIWIS and entered the activation key it called for the new Nav map discs (which they didn't have so they ordered them for their shop). The only discs in the "pack" are to update the PCM which "enables" (tricky legal wording) the update. The dealer won't charge me for the maps since they will keep them for future updates. Will charge me $159 when they come in to do the update. Said it will take several hours. I'll re-post when I have a successful update.

Same down in Montgomery. They had to order the "factory tools" (aka updated map DVDs) that they pay for. Then they plug in my code like the one you have pictured above and all good. Expecting to pick up this Saturday.

planing on getting this done at my dealer during the next visit, how much did your dealers charge all-in for the update?
