It’s a pretty robust transmission but there have been some failures and yeah, they are costly as it’s really non-serviceable. Your 16k is really a core exchange for another rebuild unit. Sorry to hear about your news, I would make sure they evaluate everything before swapping transmissions.

Porsche is pretty proud of the robustness of their pdk transmission so if you push harder with your service Mgr and give few calls to PCNA they might be able to pick the tab.. not my personal experience but doesn’t hurt in trying

I have read numerous threads in this forum about PDK failures, and I have a manual - I am sure if you search this forum you will learn about many similiar experiences.

If that's $16k installed, it sounds very fair but sucks to eat it. Plus you could easily rack up a few grand more with fresh hoses, water pump, etc, while you're in there stuff...

To the OP, very, very sorry to hear it. That is a sorry bit of bad luck.

I’ve got 42K on my ‘17 and with how hard this thing hits in the sport modes, I’m not surprised one could start to come apart. It’s down right violent when it wants to be...

Not sure I would be so smug about your MT.

Just talk to some of the GT4 owners.

most of those seem to occur under warranty, if you're referring to the losing 2nd gear issue.

I was thinking that, too. Best wishes to the OP, hope they good will part or all of it, if possible.

Is your only problem a leak ? How much is it leaking ?
For 16k I would certainly consider just letting it leak and refill every 10k.

I dunno... I would try a GOOD indy shop before throwing anything close to that kind of money down for a new box.
