Default AOS fixed - now using oil? - any advice?

Hi all, i have a 2017 C2S with 18k miles on it - i had to get the AOS replaced last week as its diaphragm split and caused a massive oil/smoke problem.

since being replaced the car now has a small oily smoke on every cold start and is using about 1/2 litre oil for every 200 miles (no smoke whilst driving and no leaks or drips on my driveway)

any ideas as to what is wrong? Could i have another faulty AOS?

before the first AOS went bad it wasnt using any oil at all - not a drop?.....

thanks.

Something went wrong with the install. Maybe a defective AOS.

It is most likely burning off excess oil that was not removed or cleaned

I am not sure about that. How does it explain the burning of 0.5l every 200 miles? Since your car is covered under warranty, I would just take it to the dealer. Also ask them to clean excess oil. Best of luck to you, Mutley911.

this is the problem - i have had the car chipped and remapped to 500hp (highly recommend!!) - therefore i think i have voided my warranty :-( - the AOS swap cost me a little over 3 grand already as it is an engine out job!....

So, your car is drinking Mobil One, has no motor warranty, and you "highly recommend" this route. Hummmmm. What are some of your other recommendations?

Who did the tune? Chipped?

I am not here to judge, just learn (and have some fun while I am at it).

no - the VRTuned box from Vivid Racing does not work well with a 991.2 PDK - it has an incorrect torque curve that confuses the car - i took the box off and binned it - the PDK is perfect - thanks for asking.

Can't imagine they had to drop the engine for the AOS swap. I guess there must be other concurrent work done on the car.

on the 991.2 with all of the pipes across the top there is no way to access the AOS from the engine bay - on the 991.1 (non turbo) you can reach in and unbolt it after removing plenum and throttle body - there is too much plumbing in there on the turbo model.
