Me too-but it looks like the claims are true! The dyno doesn’t lie!! I kept all the variables as consistent as possible between runs to eliminate any possible issues and an apples to apples comparison

Wow! The peak hp gains are impressive enough, but what's really incredible are the gains from ~3k rpm to ~4k rpm. It looks to be +125 hp.

At the speed this dyno was ramping, it looks like the ability of the turbos to generate boost was limiting the engine until 55 mph, or about 3000 rpm. At that point, the stock calibration started to limit boost while the Cobb allowed the boost to increase considerably.

Were you able to record the boost pressures during the two runs?

And these were rear wheel figures? With no estimated driveline correction?

Yes, I have the logs of all the relevant parameters datalogged on the Cobb unit (have not pulled them off to look at them as of yet). From the stock gauge-stock boost pressure was 9-10lbs whereas stage 1 was 15lbs solid. These are rear wheel horsepower figures and not adjusted to crank horsepower. My guess is the drivetrain loss is somewhere around 12% on this platform which puts it just over 500hp on stage 1 and just over 400hp stock. Yes, I do believe the 991.2 base platform is under rated from the factory at least compared to other platforms on the same Dynojet dynos. I have heard the Maha dyno viewpoint-however since those are not used here in the US-it is not relevant and I honestly think Maha dynos are a bit conservative.

Oh well, the smilies didn't work.

Excellent results and glad you've been impressed with the OTS Stage 1. I tell people all the time that any .2, be it a base, an S, or a GTS, is the performance bang for the buck car to buy because they all make amazing power while being great all around driving cars. I just got back from a nearly 4k mile round trip drive in our C2S flashed with our Stage 2 OTS map paired with the Akra Sport Cats/Rear Muffler/Diffuser combination that included driving to Amelia Island, then all over Central Florida, and then back to Austin, TX. The car made 520 wtq and 470whp on our in-house DynoJet three days earlier...and still averaged 28ish MPG at an 80ish mph cruise control setting. At 75mph...it was consistently getting over 30mpg, can't ask for much more than that from a 500ish hp car.

This is the most civil dyno thread I've ever read! Congrats polobai, great information and great results. Where were the strap points? you evidently didn't need to strap the front wheels either.

Thanks! The car was strapped front and rear-but I didn’t look to see exactly where. Here is a pic of the fronts:

The listed boost for the base/T engine is 13.1 psi, but perhaps your gauge is reading a little low. But the GTS is rated at 18.25 psi and your 5 psi differential matches the increase to GTS-level power.

See second to last post here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1129...ehavior-2.html

I thought I may have had a boost leak as I was only seeing 10psi in the factory gauge but this makes sense to me. I have also heard that the factory gauge is not the most accurate-going to pull the Cobb logs to verify for sure.

“To anyone concerned about boost leaks and if something is wrong...

The reality is how much your car boosts compared to others is "it depends" on altitude, temperature, and air density. In less than ideal conditions an S model will boost up to 16-17 PSI peak. If conditions are good and it can meet its torque target, it simply won't boost as high.”

It's doable for sure, as seen here. I remember with some of my older cars, with single turbos, could get about 35-50HP with a tune only. So you figure with another turbo, 100HP is doable. I used to have a BMW 135, with a COBB tune and it gave me about 100 crank HP. As long as the car can safely handle this power, and be reliable, then that's great. I guess we will see in time.

That's the beauty of turbo cars, it's very easy to extract a lot more torque and power with a tune. Look at any platform that's turbo: STIs, Evos, AMGs twin-turbo V8s, McLarens 570/720s, VW/Audi turbo everything, Ford Ecoboost everything. Ford tends to size their turbos on the small side for maximum response, so there's not a lot of peak HP to gain but lots of mid-range torque. But others leave more headroom. Hence why the 991.2 can gain 100hp with a tune.

sure would be cool if a tune was undetectable and or if there was a guaranty that it wouldn't affect warranty!!! With cat bypass and intake i am DYING to tune it.
