So here is how it went down today. Drove about an hour south of me to a shop I wanted to try out (Genesis Automotive in Pompano beach FL) that happened to be right down the street from Champion Porsche. Shop and owner were awesome and I will definitely be back for more runs. It was about 80 degrees and cloudy with the occasional shower down there today. We loaded the car onto the dyno and strapped it down giving it about 20 mins to cool off. Unfortunately we could not get to the coil packs so I don’t have torque or rpm data for the runs. I chose not to use their wideband for fear or scratching the exhaust tips. Have no fear-each run was datalogged with the Cobb accessport! I did spray the intercoolers with water before each run to get rid of as much heat soaking as I could. Fans were directed towards the factory duct with the wing up during the runs. The runs were made on a dynojet that has recently been calibrated.
Ok-three runs were done in total. The first two were with the Cobb stage 1 ots tune. No other mods were done-no air filter, no bypass pipes, nothing. The car is COMPLETELY stock besides the tune. All runs were done in 4th gear and in sport plus. First run:
My first impression was that it’s reading a bit high-that’s when the owner advised that it was recently calibrated and that it reads correctly based on all the other cars he dynos and he is 100% confident in the numbers. After 20 mins to cool down and some water on the intercoolers to reduce heat soak-run two commenced and the results backed up the first
runs:
Yes, the car remained strapped the entire time, had the same cool down times between runs, etc. 93 whp difference over stock!!!! @COBB Tuning I am impressed!!!
120 mph in 4th gear is about 6500 rpm, and 137 is about 7400 rpm, so those figures look right. I'm impressed that the tune maintained power so well at high rpm.
I believe it is for pdk. I did the dyno today on a 2wd dyno with no issues-just turned off traction control and went to town (held button down for about 5 seconds). There were lots of errors and codes that came up though-everything from abs lights to rear wheel steering errors to airbag lights...however they all self cleared within 5 mins of street driving and had no impact on the numbers that I could tell. This was the same experience I had with my gt4.
very glad that you were able to get this done! congrats
