Will 991 prices drop when 992 launches?

I'm here to help you with an easy solution to this. Sell the wife (and children, if any). This will permit you to set the budget as high as you wish while simultaneously helping to fund that effort.

What wife, I bought my car over 100k without telling her, she asked for divorce I said go ahead and file, nothing happened. Now I have both the Porsche and the wife but I don't know for how long.

If you desire a new 991.2, time is running out.

I think that the 991 cars will continue to slowly come down in price, just like every generation before them. I wouldn't expect them to drop like the 996 series cars did, because the 991 is generally viewed as a beautiful, desirable car. As they age and more cars hit the market with a few miles on the odometer, prices will fall.

I might add, the good well-equipped 991.1s sell FAST! So, if you find what you want, be prepared to make an instant offer.

Well, they aren’t wasting any time getting the last of the 991.2s out the door. We finished my deal and they picked up the Targa on 1/16; my order was built within days.. It’s now on the Primrose Ace, after languishing in the parking lot at Emden for two whole days. Due in Davisville next week.
Never seen such a fast turnaround in my time dealing with PAG. Of course, I stumbled onto an allocation that was about 48 hours from freezing when I called my SA.
Too bad nice weather is still months away...

My SA me that he has had a lot of requests for 991.2s since the 992 came out. He had a 991.1 and .2 on the pre-owned lot, closely spec'd, and everyone that drove both liked the 991.2 better. The the average Joe (or Jill) on the street could care less about N/A or turbo since if they are looking for a fast sports car the 991.2 is the fastest on a test drive. And more than not seem to dislike the appearance of the 992 compared to the 991.

Perhaps Porsche wants to clear out the production lines and make whatever changes are necessary for the 992s.

Keadog, that is quick! I ordered mine in late Jan, build will be in March, and arrives in May. So you are definitely lucky. Enjoy!
It’s interesting to hear a couple folks here say that their SAs are seeing more 991.2 sales than 992s. That has to be unusual. Of course we’ll never know if 991.2s would truly sell better up against 992s since 991.2 will be discontinued this year and I assume pretty soon. We can compare annual sales, but that isn’t a straightforward comparison given different market conditions.

Prices will definitely drop, and if I was in the market for a Porsche now, I would wait till 992 is launched and then shop at that time.
I think a lot of Porsche owners who are criticizing the car will end up buying it after test drive as it will be an upgrade over the current model.
