So now that we're almost there... Any ideas of how much of a drop, if at all, 991.2s may see?

991.1 = amazing sound
991.2 = amazing power capabilities
992 = amazing power above and beyond the 991 but not as pretty.

They're plummeting at the local dealerships.

Never seen plummeting prices before when new model intro occurs. There will be some adjusting but I think minor until the 992 gets accepted by the 911 community. I think in the end it looks good if the performance is noticeably better then we might see more adjustments.
Driving reviews are positive.

They went up in value here. I tried to buy one this week.

I think one reason is dealerships can't get the 992's. There seems to be some bottleneck between Stuttgart and Atlanta. They have plenty of 4-dr cars and SUV's.

I suppose that will change when the supply chain fills up. I assume many 992 buyers will trade in a 991.

Local dealer has ZERO new (991.2 or 992) 911's on the lot. Four 992 's in route. How many are sold - ?? Delivery - "soon"(?). I was told they have buyers and if they had any (new) 991.2's on the lot they could sell them for MSRP(+).

From what many 991 owners are saying here they are not the ones who will be trading in. I suspect it will be new owners or those that have older models most interested in the 992s.

I was thinking the 991.1 is now 8 years old (made 2011-2015). Plus, I think some people may have leased one so they will be turning it in?

One dealer called me about a red 2019 911 7-speed with 10,500 miles. They wanted $99,999 which I thought was too high. CarFax said only service record was when the dealer did the 10K mile oil change. No other paperwork on the car.

if you want to buy a car at the bottom of it's deprecation curve, plan to buy it when it's 12-15 years old.

Saw a 992 the other day at the dealership. Not impressed with the exterior or interior especially the gear shift
(But I'm biased. I have a 991.2 starting production in a few weeks)

While there are some aspects of the 992 that turn off some 911 fans, it’s not a dud, and will compete with the outgoing 991. OTOH, 991.2 tire-kickers will be compelled to snap up the remaining inventory.

i think it will be a wash.
