Default PSA - Check your wheel well for potting soil

Every time I work on this car I'm disappointed with how poorly something was built...
Anyway rear wheel well bottom lining picture speaks for itself, removal is 5 T25s no need to raise vehicle/remove tire if you have a short ratchet.

I fail to understand your point.

There is no point, just to check and remove the 1 lb of dirt in that location from time to time.

Okay, so what conditions are you driving your car in? I live in rural Texas and have no such issue. I’m driving a 2018 Carrera 4 GTS and live in corn fields. Quality seems top notch.

What is making you think to check the wheel well?

You have a 1 yr old car... And you must be pretty fast with a wrench to check that fast...

Purchased it in July of 2018. I’ve had no reason to check the wheel wells. Again, why are you looking there?

Do you normally take apart your car to look for dirt?

That is why I'm posting as this is not something I had thought to check, removed one of them as the magnet or whatever they used to hold flush rusted through.

I drive almost entirely in the city and have seen similar build up.

That is an alarming amount of crud, and exactly the kind of stuff that causes early rust through of body panels. That said, Porsches are performance cars that need maintenance. If you run fat sticky tires, you will pick up lots of dirt. Every year I remove my wheels and do a major clean up/inspection around the suspension, brakes etc. I’ll check this area for accumulation of dirt. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm with you. I get more black top pebbles then dirt.

They could have repositioned the wheel well liner to be more flush to eliminate the lip that catches everything.

No joke, I clean my wheel wells during every other wash. I just spray water up and around there. I can't believe what comes out sometimes.
