Nice job...this little mod is one of those that cost almost nothing but yield big results.

Excellent - what paint did you guys use?

the plastic chrome on the controls bothered me more, never noticed this trim.

black looks good

This is what Frank used...I ran out of what I used and I cannot recall what is was. And yes, your Yellow SC would look fantastic with Black trim!

I do recall I used Satin Black, and I am sure any kind will do.

I'll contribute a little. The dial was very easy and I was surprised how quickly it came out. I use the prying tool that came with the blackvue camera.
I used it on the 9oclock side of the dial.
you can see from the pictures the three notches that are used to hold the dial in place.
Initially I thought I had broken one as on the 12o'clock there seems to a notch missing. But its not as yiu can see from the dial picture. Just waiting on paint now.

Black steering wheel looks pretty good too. Do you have to remove the entire steering wheel to paint it? If so, any DIY instructions? is sanding required? My is the plain sport design wheel, so no button to mess with.

If you can find a way to paint it without removing the steering wheel you are on your own since I do not see how to do it that way, but here are some quick notes from Frank:

battery disconnect
airbag out (2holes on side)
disconnect 2 airbag wires
unclip 2 plugs and undo center bolt and the whole steering is out

Here are more detailed instructions:

that is good write up but you don't have to strip it right down
no sanding necessary ..just wipe with some alcohol or paint thinners and even light coats...paint is very forgiving and easy to apply.

Are you talking about the 3 pieces with the fake bolts? Those are the ones I need to change if so.
