Anyone use Motul 0-40
Was wondering if anyone has used Motul on their 991.2 other than Mobil 1? I have always used motul on my other rides with great success and it is a true ester base synthetic oil.. Thoughts?

My indy uses Liqui Moly and I'm fine with that.

As you'll see here on many UOA's, our Porsche A40 (8100 X-max, 8100 X-cess, 8100 X-clean) approved oils have more ZDDP for enhanced wear protection, better viscosity retention and additive retention vs the Mobil 1 0W40. You'll also see 20%-30% less oil consumption due to the 8100 oil's lower volatility rates. 8100 oils are not ester based oil's. You'll have to go to the 300V in a 2L tin metal can for our ester based 0W40. It will not be Porsche approved but has considerable advantages vs anything in our 8100 line of OEM approved oils.
Hope that helps. -Nick

Have been using Motul in my Turbo with amazing results. Agree with the less oil usage statement as well when compared to the factory fill Mobil One.

And YES WE ARE..... Not getting into an oil war. Do your own research because these oil wars never change anyone's mind. Just a tid bit for U though. Race mechanic uses Mobil 1 in all our small block V8's. Do a leak down on a 10 weekend motor and get nearly 30%+ leak down numbers. Where is it going? Seal up the valves, put the head back on and still in the 20% range. I call BS and have a long look at cylinder walls and have an oil analysis done. Long story meet the Motul rep and have a long discussion, short answer used Motul break in oil and using 300V on the new motor.

You Americans with a love for arguments and bellicose attitude, quite entertaining.

This. As long as it meets the proper spec it will perform as intended. Just go with whichever brand is the least expensive and/or readily available. Paying more for "boutique" oils is a complete waste of money imo.

Since I will be doing my own oil changes every 5000 miles, is it worth it to spend the extra money on the high end oil???
