I finally got mine the other day in matching racing yellow. My friend pointed out to me that the cost of this was 0.05% cost of what I bought the car for. So, that put it in perspective.

Maybe 0.5%. Not 0.05%. And halfl a percent for painting that little plastic is crazy to me. Does look nice though.

He was correct, close to .05% depending on MSRP - you know they have things called calculators, right?

I don't need a calculator. Apparently you do though. As well as a class in etiquette.

0.05% of $100,000 is $50.

.05% of $150k is $75; several Porsche dealers have them for a few bucks more. And look at your reply: you said "Maybe 0.5%. Not 0.05%."

You're reaching now.

It's over $500. Build a 911 on Porsche's site and you'll see.

My Targa 4S MSRP was $157K, and part was $89.99. So, if you want to be more precise, it would be 0.0573%. So rounding up it would be 0.06%. Regardless, I like it. Thanks all.

That clarifies is then. You got a huge discount. When you build the gar it’s like 540.

This thread is about painted 'dummy' key NOT painted vehicle keys. There is a difference....

I took delivery of a 2019 Targa GTS in November ($166k MSRP) and I did not order the option you are talking about since with that you get a painted key (not a dummy key) and a leather pouch. We are talking about painted dummy keys, not the option you are referring to, and the painted dummy key is not an option when you build a car. At least you are a good speller.

Noted. Thanks for clarifying!
And my calculations weren’t wrong. I just didn’t know about the dummy key.

I like having to turn the key too, rather than a button. Is there one in carbon fiber?

I’ve been looking and couldn’t find one. Love turning the key too.
