Never mind the 992, a push button start should’ve appeared in the 991.2. I intentionally ordered my 2019 991 C2S without entry and drive and used my $1100 towards other sensible options. Charging a customer and still forcing them to turn a “fake” key to stsrt a vehicle was almost as ridiculous as the $850 I spent on lane change asssit, an option I wasn’t willing to go without.

And beings you brought it up... The lane change assist should be packaged with the dynamic cruise control, most other manufactures do this. We looked at 2018 & 19 Corvettes last summer before deciding on the Porsche (forgive me). They do not offer any type of lane assist / blind sot monitoring at all. They have very limited visibility.

I happen to love the fact that I need to turn the left key to start the car.
A sense of occassion and throwback back to the car’s history.
Turning the key is more fun than pushing a button (my other cars have that). I got entry and drive solely so I don’t have to take my key out of my pocket to open or start the car....but still love turning the key.

FWIW, I like the left hand key (dummy key) as it’s one of the many things unique to Porsche. I also opted for the red dummy key as it’s a nice complement to my red gauges and red seat belts against the black leather/carbon interior.

Please advise where I can get one without being ripped off.

I run into this often when looking for parts. Get the part# and Google it and check what the parts places charge; however, the shipping cost will vary widely but you will not pay sales tax if out of state. Based on where you are located, and if you are looking for just the key try Annapolis Porsche since they sell parts for less than most others and do not charge a lot for shipping.

Three Wheelin'
I'd go for it. I think Guards Red would be nice. Plus, it's easier to see immediately when you get in. Then again, I'm sure you could do it blindfolded.
The reason Porsche doesn't have a push button is because of tradition of the Le Mans standing start.
