My 2012 991 has entry and drive. The dummy key is a plain black. I think later they updated it to silver matching the dash trim. I'm thinking of getting one in guards red. My car is black on black and the red would be a little touch of color. Sort of like the red ignition button on the new M cars. Why not, it's only $89 (choke).
I upgraded from black to the silver to match the rest of the interior. I think I picked it up for about $25 or less (eBay). For me, it was a no-brainer since I always felt that the plain black version looked and felt quite cheap and unbefitting the rest of the interior and the car in general.
You could always take a black dummy key and simply paint or wrap the outside area. Probably save you quite a bit of cash and open up the color possibilities at the same time.
I swapped the silver one on my GTS Macan for a Carmine Red one, which matches the red seat surfaces.
But, I definitely would recommend getting the far less expensive versions available all over Ebay. $89 is nuts.
Don’t even bother. It’ll give shady people more of a reason to break into your car, thinking that the keys are in it, ready for them to take off in it.
