That's great news! I'm glad that worked for you.

I have to say that was a pretty smart move to tackle the belt while you were in there. That's a pretty pricey thing to get done by the dealer.

^ that was smart, because the interval is 6 years or 60,000 miles. I had mine done early last year at the 40K service because I figured "while they're in there with the bumper off".

Can you try and search for my 40k thread? I listed the breakdown there. Can't search now in the app. I can try tomorrow on my laptop if needed.

I know this is the "technical" forum but you will find very few people here that know how to turn a screw driver.

Plenty of "what color contrasting seat belts should I order" guys...but sadly that won't help you.
You’re the guy that kicks someone when they’re down right? When someone asks you for help, you criticize what’s wrong instead of helping or answering a request for help?

The irony is he admitted his knowledge only extends to seat belts, otherwise he would have helped the OP

This forum will get more and more technical as the platform matures. Normal car forum evolution.

Agreed. As the cars get older and more people start working on them, right? Either way, the comment just seemed “off,” condescending and insulting and I’m an attorney (self-deprecating humor)! Seriously: No one can be more obtuse that me!

This would only be a possibly correct answer if the targeted bolt hole (threaded part) if slightly lower than the hole in the carrier. I can't tell in the photos.

I just looked through the detailed shop manual and don't see anything addressing alignment when resetting this bolt.
Great tip! I updated my serpentine belt DIY thread to add this tip. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1043...ement-diy.html

Take a deep breath, relax. His post was authentic and very much on point. I am surprised that the forum came up with the solution myself.
