I would say Guards Red is a pure naivety colour, honest without affectation, like a youthful person, a moral character of the 90s, timeless like the spring, while Carmine Red is sophisticated, complex, difficult, a little bit narcissistic, thinking about itself how the others look at it more elegant, cult and rich than any other colour, and so, the type of guy of the first half of XXI century, a guy which I don't like at all! Cheers
Uummm... Seems like a lot to put on a simple red paint color. Also, way to bring back and old thread.
I have owned 2 guards red Porsches, and now own a Carmine Red 991. I am a red kind of guy and have always loved my GR Porsches color right up until I park next to a CR Porsche! Then I wish mine was CR! Carmine Red is just a deep and rich looking red that draws my eyes to it every time! I made the mistake of choosing GR twice over CR but now I have no regrets and love my Carmine Red 991.2 CS Cabriolet!
Both colors look amazing in person.
Guard Red is something you see similar color from other brands/cars and Carmine Red is something very unique and special for Porsche specific color in my opinion.
The Guards Red definitely stands out in a sea of white, silver and gray cars running down the road for sure. Still one of my favorites that has stood the test of time.
