The toughest option was choosing the color, I remember. I narrowed it down to carmine red, graphite blue, and chalk. Porsche pulled graphite blue for 2019 so I was down to two. I think carmine red is absolutely gorgeous. It's this deep-dark-cherry red to my eyes. Audi has a similar color called tango red-I was looking at R8s for a while. I saw a Cayman in carmine red and I didn't like it--kind of like chalk on a Panamera. JMHO. The 911 in carmine red is probably the sexiest looking cars around without being flashy IMO. Long story short, I chose chalk because it just called out to me. Besides, I have an airporter Audi in tango red. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Edited: I guess I didn't see a Carmine Red after all since what I saw was clearly metatllic. Please ignore my post!

It's a flat solid, not a metallic.

Thanks for the correction... I effectively deleted my incorrect post above . Maybe I saw an Amaranth Red Metallic that day?! Whatever it was had a clear metallic component and looked great to me!

I think what you said was true though for Carmine even if not a metallic.

Like many people have said...the colour is a chameleon in photos depending on lighting etc but a stunner in real life.

My wife thought it looked too pink to her in some pics a dealer had pictures of online and I told her we had to see one to be sure but after seeing that she was not changing her mind. Besides, I was making the final call. My last 3 P-cars were Guards Red so I wanted to get something very diferent this time. By the way, Red calipers are Guards Red so you can basically see them together if you can find a Carmine S model.

Looking at pictures I believe the carmine red is a much cooler look than a black or dark grey, with the black accents and tinted rear lights it looks very good in CR. I'll get back to you as soon as a decision has been made.

I realized that I’d never seen Carmine in the flesh until about a month ago. I was in a covered parking lot, and my head snapped round like a dog seeing a squirrel - Carmine red GTS. Stunning. I’ll be honest; I dislike Gaurds red. Too orange and too ‘look at me’. Personal opinion of course, as are most colors. The only reds that I would consider are deeper reds bordering onto maroon.

Carmine is a fantastic color.

^ I don't think that pic is very accurate...too Plum. Carmine is more burgundy. Guards Red is an iconic Porsche color....
