Default Auto start stop

My auto start stop function is set to OFF as default (aka the function is disabled)

is that how it should be (default setting) or was it something that the previous owner had the dealership programmed to keep it off.

Just curious

In Europe the default is set to on, in the US off.

Dealer could change this I believe

My 991.2 defaults to the auto start/stop as enabled in normal mode......annoying but I don't drive in normal mode so not a big deal.

In the US, the default is on. In the 991.1 generation, if you push the button to disable it, it will remain off forever if you so choose. In the 991.2, the button reverts to the factory setting - auto start/stop on - every time the car is turned off. Thus, you need to disable it every time you get in the car, if you want it off.

You could buy this " T-design Memory Module" and not have to worry. I bought 1 for my 2017 Cayenne and love it!!

I hate it when On. But that only happens if I forget to turn **** to Sport or Sport+ when starting.

T design module is a gift from the heavens. I havent had to think about that moronic auto start stop since I installed it. Cheap, easy to install and serves its purpose..

Here's a question for anyone who has the T-Design memory module. I understand the factory programming of the memory module is supposed to be A/S/S off. Should I expect the A/S/S button be illuminated when I start the engine? I just installed the module on my 2017 Carrera S and when I start the car, the button is not illuminated. All the buttons work when I press them manually: PASM, A/S/S, etc. So the A/S/S button illuminates when I press it manually just as it did before installing the module. What am I missing? I thought the module would make the A/S/S button illuminate with the remembered setting. Am I wrong in expecting this?

"^^^ The buttons are supposed to be as you left them when you turned the engine off. So if the Auto Start/Stop button was illuminated when you turned the engine off, it should be illuminated when you turn it back on. If that doesn't work, take a look at the last part of the written instructions. It says to open the door, turn on the ignition and press each one of the buttons 3 times with 1-second intervals between presses. This might be an initialization process needed to enable the module."

Thanks! I think I was expecting the A/S/S to light up from the first engine startup as the instructions that shipped with the module state that all the features are enabled from the factory. Perhaps my interpretation was wrong. I couldn't drive the car after installation so I will try it today. I'm so looking forward to having the A/S/S defeated at each startup.

Ugh. I guess I'll have to drop two bills to buy this module- it's sorta sad that it's actually worth it to me not to have to remember to push the A/S/S button!
