Hi I’d like the opinion of anyone that has colored gauge faces on your instruments. I’m thinking of installing white gauge faces in my car with standard black everything interior.
Are they easier to read
is there annoying glare
did you get tired of them
how hard are they to install
showld I do all or just tach
Well I ordered my car with White so I cant comment on installation. I did read a lot of complaints here about them that gave me doubt on ordering them. Now that I have about 5000 miles on the car I find all the complainers to be just that, complainers. I have absolutely zero problem reading them day or night or any variety of lighting conditions. I love the look and am very pleased with them.
I have jet black exterior with black leather interior. I have red face gauges, sport chrono clock, and red belts. LOVE my gauges and no problems with glare or readability day or night.
White gauges are awesome. Especially at night. The tach needle is like a highlighter and gives off a nice red glow against the white background. Everything can be seen day and night.
Some people are not fans of the white gauges because of the cutouts in the gauges, meaning you can see the warning signal cutouts even when they are not lighted.
"Find"? No.... Modified. yes It can be popped off with great care and painted with Tamiya model pain for plastic from Amazon. Took 4 coats to get color close but it looks like factory job. Used 2 credit cards on opposite sides of the ring and it came off with a bit of coaxing. Adds some punch to the wheel. Not sure of the final red I used as I tried a few.
Also did the ***** on the radio. Not sure I like them but I'll post tomorrow.
They are sharp but seeing the cutouts was a deal breaker for me personally. If the cutouts could be hidden they would be awesome for me....just personal preference.
That and the multifunction display doesn’t blend in as well either.
No problems with glare or readability. When it's really dark out they light up as if they are a black background. However if the headlights are on when it's still light outside, for example if it's raining, the backlight turns them pink

I never noticed until I read this thread. I guess they do, however when I’m driving I’m looking outside which is why I didn’t notice much. Guess I should spend more time admiring it and obsessing in the garage I think the white gauges look pretty cool, especially on a white car.
Bought a year old but I wouldn't have paid the ridiculous £700 to spec from new. Having said that, they do lighten up the black interior and make it a bit different. I'd go for red or yellow or a proper colour though. When lights are on at night they revert to black just like standard! I like that fact that you can see all the warning lights without them being lit up.
