Default How the mighty have fallen...thoughts on a used 2015 GT3

So while looking at a nearby dealer's website on a used 997 a friend is looking at, I saw that they have the following listed:

CPO 2015 GT3
911 GT3
14,500 miles
$127k.

It's not super loaded...but it is still a 991.1 GT3.

082
Extended Range Fuel Tank
250
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
28
Standard Interior in Black with Seats in Leather/Alcantara(R)
346
Wheels painted in Silver
431
20" GT3 Wheels
490
Sound Package Plus
581
Luggage net in passenger footwell
583
Smoking package
603
Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS)
643
Sport Chrono Package incl. Porsche Track Precision App
810
Floor Mats
P1A
Brushed Aluminum Interior Package, Anthracite i.c.w. Standard Interior
P23
Porsche Communication Management (PCM) incl. navigation module
S2
Rhodium Silver Metallic
XSX
Seat belts in Guards Red

Looking at simliar GTS's, they are in the $95k to $105k range. Can't believe how strong .1 GTS prices are and how the GT3 prices continue to freefall.

Interesting.

I know that they've had engine issues but with the 100k engine warranty, I would think those fears would be allayed. Interesting position if someone was considering a GTS.

Probably 2/3 of the prior GT3 owners traded or sold their cars for new GT3 this year. In the last few years, 500hp cars have become common. The GT3 stayed higher than I thought possible as it’s a limited use car and not a friendly DD.

I feel a gt3 is definitely ddable. I feel it lacks power compared to the other cars in same segment.

DOn't think it lacks power, but it lacks torque, and it's power is at the top of the rev range. Definitely a very different experience to, say, a Merc GTS.

No torque down low is why the turbo'd 991.2 cars are better DD's

Think of it this way. A 991.1 is also low end torque lite, but people aren't complaining about that being a poor daily driver?

I will admit, 100% that the .2's low end torque make mooching around much easier, especially with a manual. But it's not like these cars, especially not a GT3, are dogs.

Why would you buy a high revving flat 6 and not want to rev it? Try driving it in the right gear and it has ample torques,

At $127k, that is still excellent depreciation for the GT3 assuming the msrp was around mid $130's.

Actually, I'm glad to see that these cars are depreciating. Hopefully, it will drive the "investors" away so us average blokes can get into a GT car.

Keep in mind the PDK keeps the GT3 in the optimum torque range at all times (in Sport +). So torque is not an issue on the track. Not much of an issue on the street either unless you are stoplight racing.

For me the LWBs would be a must.

Wow, you're right. I found it on the Porsche website and pulled up the build records. $136k. I've never seen a 991.1 GT3 with such a low price! Most that I have seen have been $150k and a little higher.
