Default Break-in Period... I Think I Need a Cold Shower...

Today was the day! Signed the papers and picked up my Carrera T. What a BLAST! Just back from a good 200km rip up the local hills and the beautiful Sea to Sky Hwy.

And jeepers - with trying to keep the revs low during the break-in period I feel like I need a cold shower! This is going to be a KILLER experience to get through. How long do I need to go before I can take it up into the higher rev ranges?

Anyways, it's an amazing car! Here are a few obligatory pics... :

And the non-LWBS in leather and Sportex? Love them. Way better than I expected. So happy to have them.

Beautiful! I seem to recall owners manual saying 1875 miles or so for break in. Have had my T about 6 weeks and jus hit 1850 after a trip to Nelson, BC.

Creepers! Here is the regimen I followed. Worked great, got me to know how the car acted at different parts of the range, and zero issues thus far. Just went over 3,000 miles with a two month sit while I was away for a bit...

Great looking auto! Congrats and enjoy!

Baby her until >190F for Oil Temp
< 4,000 rpm until 300 miles
< 4,500 rpm until 425 miles
< 5,000 rpm until 550 miles
< 5,500 rpm until 675 miles
< 6,000 rpm until 800 miles
< 6,500 rpm until 925 miles
< 7,000 rpm until 1,050 miles

Yes - something like that, right? Nelson - some of the best roads in the world there. I'll touch there on our PCA Zone 6 Grand Tour this next month.

Excellent Christopher. The Sea to Sky is the best but... bristling with RCMP these days.

Thanks so much for this. I really need it and to be honest, there MIGHT have been a few times I exceeded 4000!

Here's a map of may 200Km day one rip.

Have you all seen the Porsche Road Trip app? Just took the International Selkirk Loop it suggested through Nelson, BC. It’s pretty cool. Gives you drives all over the world plus it will generate loops for you in any direction and distance from where you live.

Yes! It's a great app and I'll fire it up for sure. It's an amazing world these days that we can so easily share this stuff!

Well here's my T...had it for about 3 months, such an incredible car, especially on the canyon roads here in LA. I bought the AMMO NYC waterless car wash supplies but forgot to order the microfiber towels for the wheels, so ignore how dirty they are in a few pictures. Wish I had more time to drive it even more...

Congratulations. Beautiful T, looks so nice in Black!! I have mine in Playa Del Rey since I’m out there often. Some of the best driving roads I’ve experienced, once you get out of LA. This photo was in the mountains near Malibu. Hope to see you and your T around the canyons one day.
