Are you sure it wasn't just a crash? Sounds like what might happen if the PCM crashed.

Yes, maybe. I run on Apple OS and haven't had a crash in many years. I forgot that even happened nowadays. It actually went through a series of three reboots.

I haven't seen any evidence that the PCM's are being updated OTA, but the embedded SIM for Connect Plus services does support on-line navigation map updates. That would lead me to believe it is not beyond the realm of possibility to think the ability to update the PCM on-line also exists. Whether they are actually doing it, or plan to do it seems to be a well kept secret. I'll see if I can pry any info loose on that front from my service guy this week or next. Just waiting for a part to come in from the Fatherland.
