The issue isn't the ability of the fuel system to adjust the fuel trims. The issue is the materials used for all the components in the fuel system. Ethanol degrades materials used in fuel systems designed for plain unleaded gas. 10% is about the limit typical materials used can handle without significant degradation. But 15% is too much for sure for older cars. A car designed to run flex fuel and E85 will not have issues, but every other car will.
Fuel systems have been designed to put up with ethanol for quite a while now. The same lines...on flex fuel and regular vehicles...on the shelf at your chain auto parts store....all of em designed to deal with ethanol.
Now cars older than 2006...agreed...no guarantees. 1990's are questionable but there are plenty of people converting older Japanese turbo cars to ethanol on stock lines. 1980's and older...yeah...wouldn't try it without a complete fuel system refit.

Man...does this mean the price of Corn Flakes will go up again .
Have we found a subject that both conservatives and liberals can agree on here? Time to celebrate!

Anyone for Wild Turkey? Or, Bacardi 150? Bacardi 150 makes for a wicked Mai Tai...
On a more serious note, if you have access to the unadulterated unleaded race gas, you can blend some of that into the E15 to get to E10. The more E0 race gas into the E15 swill, gets you to a lower E rating and a higher octane rating....
