To each their own.
In a funny way I agree with those that don't like a sunroof since if does not go all the way down, or at least open as much as the Targa I want no part of it...if all Porsche made were Coupes I would never consider buying one!

I've had a few cars with and without sunroofs... my GTS is without for the simple reason that I prefer the look of an unbroken roofline. i'm also not that eager to fiddle with loads of buttons when i get in the car... a few to turn off the display, etc., etc., i'd rather just drive with the windows open.

either way, you'll enjoy whatever you decide

good luck

Well, if you are talking about a “true” sports car, don't stop at the sunroof. My teenage enthusiast self would say the 911 in any form today is a GT car.... but that reference is from the age of Sunbeam, FIAT, TVR, Lotus, MGB, Triumph, and the like. My point is that the definition of a sports car is purely subjective.

Have the glass roof now and like the 10 times a year I open it. I like the contrast with the white and have had no squeeks or other noise from it. Ordered it on the next one too.

I got the full glass sunroof. I've had one in every car I have ever owned except the two convertibles (including a Porsche 981). That said, if I was tracking a car, there is no way I would get that option.

I have sunroofs on both our non-Porsche cars. If I open them at all it's just to crack the back for a little ventilation. IMHO, the Porsche coupe looks smoother and sleeker without the contrasting black of the glass panel (on a GT Silver car) and the seams on the solid sunroof.

I'm a big fan of the glass roof + shade curtain. It all functions really well and the car looks amazing with it tilted, slid up, and even closed.

If you have a non black color car the glass roof gives a really nice black color contrast up top.. Plus your spoiler goes up higher and it looks amazing in your mirror. Also to others who drive around and behind you. Ventilation is nice and you get to hear that music a little more behind you.

+1 to all points

One word: rattles.
I'm not claiming that it's an issue in general (it probably isn't) but it is for me.
My pending order specifies option code ZAC No Sunroof (yes, there's actually a line item on the build sheet for it)

Considering you live in Seattle I can almost agree but for one, they do not rattle and two, the sun must come out at least one day a year!

My last 911 was a 991.1 C2S with sunroof in glass and this one is a 991.2 Endurance Racing Edition with the same sunroof as sunroof in glass but in steel instead of glass (because of the opaque vinyl stripes over the roof). And there are zero leaks. And zero, repeat - zero! rattles or noise of any kind. Nothing but pleasure! Porsche got this one right. I would never buy a modern 911 coupe without sunroof! Rattles and noise might have been a feature of earlier 911's, but not today's 911's. You are crazy of if font get a sunroof. Or maybe you live in Antarctica...

I have a TTS with a Cobb tune pushing some serious hp but still love to open the sunroof on beautiful days or nights to take my wife on country roads to dinner or just scream along by myself.
So because I like a sunroof do I have to hand in all my Porsche credentials. I am not worthy. Must be getting close to winter when threads about nothing pop up.

Use to drive a 991.2 Coupe with a metal sunroof. Used it a lot since it was my daily driver and I really liked the fact of having some fresh air instead of air conditioning. No rattle or strange noises. I didn't track my car so I couldn't care less about weight.

Now I'm driving a 991.2 Cabrio so you can tell I'm biased.....

I ordered mine without the sunroof. I like the clean look on the Porsche. Every car that I’ve owned until now has/had a sunroof and found that I rarely use it. Just like anything, it’s all just personal preference.

i had my sunroof opened on my way home from work last night. finally cool enough to drive without a/c and the air through the sunroof is just perfect. open window driving makes too much air turbulence at high speeds.

I don't like the look of glass on the roof so I got the the metal roof. looks cleaner in my opinion. i love that porsche even has this option.

i say totally worth it unless you live somewhere constantly hot year round and need the A/C on all the time
