Kline Header on Dyno - Hot Baby!!!!
Here is a Kline Header we just installed on a 991.2 GTS performing on the dyno. Those pipes do get a bit hot. With headers, intercoolers, and IPD Plenum Tuned with a Cobb on Stage 1 (that's all they have for now), Car picked up and additional 72 HP at the wheels (car already had an Agency power exhaust that added 13 to the wheels, so up 85 HP total ). If we would have done a custom tune through Cobb or if Cobb had a tune for increasing boost pressure for say a Stage 2 or 3, I'm pretty certain we would have gotten another 40+ HP. HURRY UP COBB!!!!!

I have a sound one I will also post. Let me see if we saved the graphs. Think so. And I have no idea who flsupraguys is. If the is Beau, then yes it is his car. I posted pics recently where we removed the goofy GTS exhaust coming out the back to a standard 2 large black exhaust tips on each end of bumper ala standard Carrera. The one thing the graphs dont show is how much earlier and faster the turbos spool. This made a huge difference.

So you guys did a before and after on the Kline and saw more top end hp and faster spool? Can't wait to see!
flsupraguy, in what order were your mods installed and dyno'd exactly? Seems like you're FBO. Bypass pipes or high flow cats? 91 or 93 map?

What fan setup was used on the dyno?

We did all mods at same time except exhaust.
We used HiFlo fans into the front radiators and one for each intercooler. And a final one just blowing in engine compartment.

Based on Cobb's dyno charts, the stock GTS makes about 423hp to the wheels and the tuned engine makes about 506hp to the wheels, based on a 93 octane tune.
Based on the numbers provided above, it seems in line with exactly what Cobb reported, 83hp total gains.
So, the question I have is what do the IPD, Filter, Exhaust and Headers actually do for the overall HP gains?
The chart will certainly show where the increases are and hopefully they will show improvements over the OEM parts.
The only thing we need to test is how the aftermarket parts test on a stage 2 tune, or a custom tune designed to take advantage of the custom parts.
It would seem that on a stage 1 tune that there is essentially no improvement over any of the stock parts based on pure HP numbers.
Crazy how different the Turbo engines are to the Naturally Aspirated engines with regards to tuning..

Lucky for me I dont race, but I wouldn't call it a "cheap slow GTS" as the Targa GTS base costs $20,000 more than the coupe, which is also more than all of the mods you can muster added together to make it faster
So, I got at least 20k on all three of you before you even turn the key. As far as slow, its got a Cobb tune which is faster than ANY non Cobb 991.2 so, I'm okay with where I stand.. are you?

Your targa is a fat pig with a higher center of gravity. HARDLY a GTS.. More C4S IMO. You need the GTS for the extra weight you're carrying. By nature our GTS's are faster and much more athletic than yours.. Your paint color also knocks off another 20hp/15tq and adds 30 extra pounds.
You're stuck with that junk heap for life because nobody wants a 1999 Camry Green Targa 911 GTS. I'm glad you pride yourself in paying more for less!
