How do you see the 992 affecting the Carrera T resale value?

I won't get into the 991.1 vs 991.2 values debate specifically - because I've had both - all that I'll say is that I prefer driving the 991.2 more right now, and that's all that should really matter.

I’m getting nostalgic. I loved that car, but at the time I lived in a rock haven hell and every moment I drove it I was pissed off at the person in front of me for throwing rocks at such a beautiful car.
I now drive my T every chance I get! 991.1 vs 991.2 I have no preference, they’re both brilliantly engineered. I could’ve bought a GT3 instead of my T but I want to drive it and not fret over values. I did that before and it wasn’t my type of enjoyment. I definitely applaud you for running each of your cars to their potential and I hope to do the same.

My T has 393 to the wheel with no tune and I love it. Stock GTS only slowly pulls from it. Vector performance headers, Akrapovic pipe, Cats and carbon valence. These parts were added with 193 miles on the car. 2019 - now I have 12,500 miles in 13 months. I just drive it every weekend and could not be happier. The fact that at Cars and Coffee I never see them and I am always being asked about the T makes it special in my eyes. I am sure all Porsche 991.2 and older are awesome I just only have my personal story of the T and it’s Pure love. Fyi - parts cost 14k and car was 120k.

992 T
""The lightweight package will also be available on more affordable Carrera and Carrera S models, which may well preclude the need for a ‘T’ version later in the lifecycle. Walliser insisted that the Carrera T versionof the 911 was well received but that it didn’t spend sufficiently long enough in the marketplace for Porsche to know for sure whether it should become a permanent fixture of the range.""
They certainly keep us guessing re: the T

He also confirms no 4.0 from the 718 in a 911.

But the whole point of a 4.0 GT4 motor in a 992 T is so that it wouldn’t cost double the price. It would be the same price as a 992 T with the prevalent 3.0. And Porsche could actually get more of their investment back in that motor if they actually applied it to more cars.
I think it’s idiotic and passionless for them to not give us that masterpiece of a motor in a 911. We have plenty of 3.0’s, no shortage. Why not give us ONE with the detuned 4.0? People would fall over themselves to get that in a Carrera. Very frustrating.

A 992 911T 4.0 L NA makes a lot of sense and will sell well. It's a lighter weight engine setup and has that NA zing. A guess is it will have 425-430 Hp and that nice 8000 redline. A great engine for the next 911T!
Another guess is it will be priced higher, in the C2S range, but with a little different focus.
Porsche said recently that the 911 will always have an ICE. Hooray!!

they’ve confirmed 10 different times they are NOT putting the 4.0 from the 718 in a 911.
anything is possible, but there are several write ups and quotes from Porsche saying NO
the only NA motor in a 992 911 is the gt3 - and its not the 718 4.0, its a true race engine - according to porsche.
would be thrilled if they change their mind, but seems highly unlikely

Because that doesn't jive with everything they're doing, emissions wise, lifestyle wise, model range wise, development wise, GT wise. No NA engine was ever going to end up in a 992 Carrera. I'm surprised that was even an anticipation. This is not a failure on Porsche's part, so long as they are offering a last round of NA GT cars. Be happy about that.

absolutely.
if they do offer the “lightweight” options on all ranges of 992 911’s it may very well preclude the 992 Carrera T from being produced. no crystal ball but this would fit with the whole ClubSport theme. Only produced the clubsport in 87-89 I believe. The T only produced 18-19 (besides the original T from 60’s)

If they do offer a LW package, it will be fun to watch guys complain it should have been a different model. Probably the same guys that complained the T model should have just been an option package...

Not that Im aware of. Agree it would be incredible, but I highly doubt it will ever happen. If it does, I'll be first in line to order.
