Default Radar Installation in SF Bay Area

Hello,

I just bought my first Porsche, a 991.2 C4S, after dreaming about getting one since I was a kid.
Needless to say that I am super happy and have that stupid grin on my face whenever I look at her or drive it : )

I'm in the SF Bay Area (south) and I was wondering if anybody has a recommendation for a local shop where I could get a stealth radar installation. I'm looking for something similar to what Musicar did here: https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1038...northwest.html

Thanks!

Hoki

Hoki, just come up to see us! That car in the link was also from the Bay Area!

I had an Escort Max CI 360 installed by Custom Mobile Electronics in Novato. The did a nice job with a stealth install - they handled sending my mirror to radar-mirrors.com to conceal the display, they hid the control unit in the ashtray, and did a nice clean overall job. You can email Marty, who I believe is the owner, at martybarrycme@gmail.com. They seem to share a facility and somehow be related to GMP cars, which is next door, and seems to host their website: https://www.gmpcars.com/audio-and-electronics/

I have no affiliation... just a satisfied customer.

I think I saw this car driving around Mountain View recently. It was my first time hearing the Porsche exhaust from the outside. Brought a smile to my face.

Thanks! Do you have any photos showing how they did this both outside and inside?

Just read that thread of Music Car's work... wow talk about clean, high level of workmanship. I just cringed at the thought of the overall price tag.

Congrats on your new 911, looks great. I use a V1 with Blendmount, and sounds like you want integrated for radar detector, won't try and sway you on that, but if you go with a laser jammer, don't get anything but AL Priority. Good luck finding a place and what you decide on, just thought I would offer some friendly advice, as I'm new 911 owner myself.

Sorry for the delay. Here are a few pictures of the 360 CI Max install done by CME. I don't have pictures of the front diffusers at the moment... I'll try to remember to take a picture later today. The lighting was a little challenging so please excuse the quality. I put yellow boxes around the rear diffusers so you could see them - they blend into the dark blue paint and black plastic around the license plates. I also put a yellow square around the alert light that's installed - it's in the little corner where the windshield meets the dash, and it flashes to let you know there's an alert (in case you don't see it in the mirror or hear the audible alert I guess.) For the display integrated into the mirror there are forward and back arrows that aren't lit up in the photo - Valentine-style directional arrows to let you know if the radar or laser signal is from the front or back. The CPU is installed somewhere under the dash - I can't actually see where it is. That's where the audio alerts come from. Last comment is that these are all taken on my 981 Cayman GTS, so things may differ slightly on the 991.

Happy to answer any other questions.
