991.2 Oil Pressure
Question on the normal oil pressure. I just finished my first oil change on the T @2022 miles. After the oil change on the way home, I noticed the oil pressure going just at 5-6k RPM would go as high as 60 PSI. Idle it's sitting at 17PSI. I don't' recall (prior to the oil change) the oil pressure would peak that high almost to the red line. Is this normal?
What's a normal oil pressure?

I'll have to check mine next time I drive it. My recollection - it's about same as yours at idle, and increases with rpm. It's over 30 psi where I cruise at 3000+. I'll check at 5000-6000 next time i drive it.
Oil pressure is also temperature dependent. I drive only in Sport or Sport+ and my oil runs around 198-208°F

Seems like the .2 has a slightly lower idle rpm oil pressure vs the .1. On the .1 at cold idle the oil pressure is 25. Hot it's 20.
At highway cruising it's 31. At high rpms it's well over 60. These seem similar to the .2.

Thanks for the feedback all! Interesting, it seems at 5-6k RPM would get to 60PSI. I wonder what it would be at if it goes beyond 7k (almost redline) RPM if that'll get to the redline on Oil Pressure.

Keep in mind these engines have variable flow oil pumps. Your pressure will be determined by many factors: temp, load, RPM, and probably some other things that Porsche is monitoring to assure optimal pressure.

My S at idle cycles back and forth between 20 and 23 psi at idle, at 208°F in 92°F weather, as if there is some sort of cooling thermostat operating on and off. Fully warmed up at 208 °F it ran 59 psi at 5000.
Mine has the X51 PowerKit, and I'm not sure if any of the software is different for that.
These are much higher oil pressures than my 2015 991.1 C2S ran. Higher HP requires more cooling, and that requires higher oil flow. Apparently Porsche engine designers increased oil pressure to increase oil flow for more cooling.

Concerned about low oil pressure
My 2018 C4S when fully warmed up idles at around 14 psi oil pressure. I'm a bit of a newbie to Porsche, but to me that seems low. Can someone school me a bit?
