Im going in next week. Ill let my car sit in the sun a few hours to get that goop soft so it will ooze out. I can't just drive from my garage.

Ive decided that if they hem and haw and shuffle around Im going to just do it on my dime.

I see you're near me, where do you plan to take yours to? I see it on my front windshield.

Good news! Take before pictures of your interior dash and trim pieces, including the a-pillars and roof line on the outside. Include the front fenders and frunk just in case you detect scratches or damage after the fact. Beside, this a good way to document this event. Best of luck.

Hold everything...evidently Porsche misread the vin...car is only CPO warranty not original factory warranty. Declined with many apologies. WTF? Well we move on to my original plan which was to do it myself in case of this.

6 months, 2 dealers, and many calls to Porsche NA and it seems like no one wants to correct my rear glass. They are claiming it's cosmetic or in some cases just giving me the silent treatment :/

I had my dealer give me a quote, $2,500 for front and rear. Is there anything we can use to cover that area up so that it doesn't smear all over the place during a wash? I looked into window sealant but don't want anything that will stick to the paint.

Showed it to my Porsche service. They just scratched their head to as to what it could be. Looked up to see if there were any bulletins on the condition, and of course, there were none. Did not offer a solution, and just said that I should monitor it. So basically, "too bad pal, never saw this before, so good luck." Of course, car is out of warranty now

Had this on my 991.1RS rear window. Took it to my dealer, showed them and commented that I've read on RL there have been many replaced. Replaced whole window and seal under warranty.

Not sure if the front would have been affected as I replaced the front windshield myself after some pitting.

It's a known problem by PCNA. Push for warranty replacement.

My local dealer just replaced my windshield two (2) months ago. My car is a 991.2 Base Cabrio 2018. There’s no recall for this problem but I used the same argument of all the reports on Rennlist and they agreed on replacing it under warranty.

Their original idea was just to replace the seal but they ended up replacing the whole windishield. Took three (3) weeks since they had to import the windshield from Germany.

I am out of warranty. The seal is unfortunately a part of the glass so it's full replacement or nothing. Based on what I see, it won't leak so the only issue is getting that residue all over the place when I come into contact with it.

In the same boat. Both front and back. Dealer is charging for install which was quoted to be 750.. that's quite a long of an install. Some people are lucky getting this replaced for free.

I had my front windshield replaced under warranty at the dealer relatively recently. No push back from them. On the paperwork it has some statements that pictures were taken and sent to xxxx. So maybe it required some sort of authorization.

Yes, the installation process is long. The dealer had my car for two days.

At first the dealer gave me the run-around so I called PCNA and explained the issue and dealership that was uncooperative. Within the hour I received a call back from PCNA with a contact name at the same dealership. I called and was asked to drive my car in. Two managers inspected my windshield and rear glass and agreed to cover the replacement and labor free of charge under warranty. They also threw in a free loaner for the inconvenience.
