991.2 Sport Lip upgrade - DIY
So today I switched out the factory front lip on my 991.2 C4S.
It took about 15 minutes.
Here is a quick DIY
Removing:
1. Unscrew 4 metal screws and 2 plastic screws from factory lip
2. Start from one end and gently but FIRMLY pull the factory lip forward and slightly down from the bumper. Do not yank.
3. Factory lip should unsnap one clip at a time as you move from driver side towards passenger side.
Installing new Sport lip
1. Clip the 2 plastic clips from one end of the lip to underneath the bumper
2. Work your way one clip at a time to the other end. You will need to firmly pop each clip in which I did with my palm. It should snap in snuggly

Old piece removed
New Sport Lip installed

Do you have a feeling for how much incline or dive way headroom you lost? I prefer the sport chin, but I’ve managed to scrape my stocker enough that I’m gunshy.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Is this the one that comes on the SportDesign front bumper?

The old lip is 1 3/4" (44.45mm) in height with includes the second rubber trim underneath the plastic lip.
The new sport lip is 2 5/8" (66.675mm) in height
So thats about 7/8" (22.225mm) taller.
I have not experienced any scraping from driveways yet.
The new sports lip is much easier to change out (no screws).

When I bought my 2017 in March of this year it came with the sport lip. It had a ding in it and the dealer gave me another one to put on when I wished. Well I clean mine up with some sanding and dying and looks brand new. So one day my buddy came over in his 2017 and we switched his out with my new one. Looks so much better now.
I will say they scrape pretty easy but it occurs on the bottom edge and you really can't see it. You can run your finger underneath and feel it but it's not really visible.
Note when I removed his old one it is real easy if you realize removal is done with a sideways shift to drop it off. At least that is what we found.
