Has anyone removed the part of the rear seat that folds down? If it could be easily removed and later re-installed, it would give me more useful carrying capacity for bulky objects, which is all that I use the rear seat area for. Re-installation would be only for eventual resale, so does not have to be extremely easy.

Up unless I am hauling a lot of luggage. Picked up the kids today in it, for the first day of school!

Down. I have no back seat riders and I haul stuff sometimes. I like the way it looks too.

Usually down, but for the Werks event tomorrow, I will put them up to show off my red seat belts.

Same, I like the contrast between black leather and yellow seatbelts.

Up. I have a custom fit and flat Roadersterbag that covers the carpeting. When traveling, two small Roadsterbags fit on the seats, and flip the seats down to fit two larger Roadsterbags.

But.... that fitted cocoa mat above sounds great to me. The flat Rodsterbag was all that I could find for back there. I wrote to WeatherTech to make one but they had no interest. If anyone has a company making a mat for back there, please post it, thanks.

Its a great look and helps to add a little color to my all black interior. Makes for a great shelf for tossing a jacket, or whatever is needed back there.
would like some more info on this please ... vendor? stock piece? special order? sounds like a great approach....

https://www.cocomats.com/

When you are placing the order, there are options for cargo mats. You just calculate the square footage, select the size that applies, and provide them with your exact desired measurements and place your order.

Here is a pic....

Down. I prefer the look and like the readiness for cargo. And I keep a towel and ball cap on the seat bottom under folded seat back.

I would probably remove the back backs except for the occasional use. My wife and daughter have both taken turns in the back. (Wait, that sounds wrong.)

I would lose the weight by removing them, or at lease removing the back rests.
